http://www.fiberglassics.com/library/Tomahawk
I remember my uncle taking my brother, my cousin, and myself fishing in one of these boats.
It had tail fins on the back, and a loud "trumpet horn" that I would keep honking until he cut the wire!
Something broke in the outboard, then it sat behind his garage for years.
He also had a red Cushman scooter that my brother and I would ride around his yard.
By the time I was old enough to realize "what they were", they had already been sold(to someone who did!).
Good memories though!

Like this, looks like they used Mercury outboards.  We always had great luck with Merc's, I don't recall ever getting stuck with one.

That's a gorgeous little boat.  Got me curious enough to look up a little history.  Harley wasn't a boat builder very long.  HD bought 51% of this company in Feb 1962 and by mid 1965 the company had gone bust.

The company had been in operation since 1945 before that.  Including surviving a fire in 1955 that took down it's entire production facility.  Apparently the company was respected enough within its community at that time that the community itself pitched in to help significantly with a new Butler type building to get them back in operation and save a couple hundred local jobs.  Recovery after that including adding fiberglass boats to production (had been all wood before).

So they got through all that then looked good enough to buy in 1962 and sank under Harley stewardship three years later.  Too bad.  They made some cool looking boats.

I recall seeing one or two of these in my very much younger days.

I remember an article in HOG magazine awhile ago that talked about the Tomahawk boat plant. If I remember correctly H-D bought the plant for the fiberglass technology so they could make their own saddlebags and other parts which were subcontracted before that time.

My '95 FLHTP had stickers in the fiberglass saddlebags that said "Tomahawk Division".

Would love to have one of those old Tomahawk boats!
