Dealer installed 110 hop up kit
« on: March 25, 2013, 11:55:42 AM »

My dealer is talking about a modified Screaming Eagle hop up kit.  Package #27548-10A.  I know the cam is the same as my 13 stock.  I also already have a SE tuner.  In have Vance and Hines Power boom head pipe and stock SE mufflers.  He also suggested SE Heads.  I Pull a camper with my bike.  Lots of 600 to 1000  mile days.  I also like to run around with the guys and hammer on it too.  I am after a strong mid range.
So to wrap it up.  I want 110hp with strong reliability.

Thanks in advance to everyone's response.  I have a working idea on the engines but am not super tech knowledgeable.

I just got my '13 CVO RG back from Doc's Performance Tuning.  Doc sent my heads to T-Man Performance to have the heads flowed, larger intake and exhaust valves and pistons shaped to fit the new valves.  Doc added adjustable push rods and a Cometic head gasket and installed and tuned with the TTS Master Tuner.  Kept the 255 SE cams. My torque is crazy strong all the way from 2,000 through 4,750 RPM.  HP is only 101 but the torque is what you feel.  My compression is only 10.2:1 so I have a great deal of reliability with the engine. I attached my dyno sheet for your review. I see all these guys installing 259 SE cams or the TMan 666 cams.  Great for high end torque but when yo review their dyno sheets they sacrifice low end torque and usually end up with less than 95 foot pounds until they get to 3,000 RPM.  I don't know about how you ride but everyone I've ever seen rides from 2,000 - 4,000 unless they race their bike.  Since you are pulling a camper I would think you want the pulling power from off the line to 4,500.

Set at 10.0 cr, an S&S .570 will do it, as will several of the Wood cams, set at the appropriate ratio as well.
