Has anyone been able to get this update to work if their current version was 8.9.0 ? I cannot get it to update and tried twice. The HD website states to only do the update if your current version is less than 8.9.0 but I attempted it anyway without any luck.

Thanks.. I got it to work. The only thing I did differently was I turned the ignition switch to access rather than on like the instructions advise. I think doing it that way helped it take the update.

It's been awhile since I looked at HD's printed directions for doing this.  You must take the ignition switch to accy while holding down a couple of the numeric buttons on the radio.  That's how you get in to diagnostic mode and can inititate the update.  Glad you got her done  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] .

Got mine done last night...it even worked at a higher speed than 8x.  Oh, I also had V8.9 in the radio, so that makes no difference, as 2ln stated.  Don't know what improvements it has made, but it's in there just the same.

Problem is the writing software in XP is licensed through Roxio. So basically you used Roxio again and didn't even know it.

No way to tell. My first two discs were burned in Nero which worked for the last 8.9.0 update but did not work for this update. I tried using the XP burning feature and it worked fine. Who Knows !!!

Burned the first disk on the Mac at 8X - no Joy...
Burned the second disk in Windows via Nero at 4x - worked like a charm...

just did the deed, did not work 2 or 3 times on acc. tried with the ignition on ,on. worked fine!!!
