Free Corbin Seat For Breakout
« on: March 27, 2013, 06:31:55 PM »

Looking at an aftermarket seat for the Breakout so I called Corbin.  They said that they don't have one available yet.  They also said that if someone would bring them their Breakout, that they would make them a seat at "NO CHARGE".  They said that you would need to leave your bike with them for a few weeks while they design the seat.

If there are any Breakout owners in California that want a free Corbin seat, you might want to give them a call.

That's an awesome offer from Corbin !
I have had 3 corbin seats on different bikes and they really suited me .
Shame I'm in Australia   :-\
But I would highly recommend Corbin.
With that said I don't mind the breakout seat so far  :nixweiss:

I'm almost tempted to take them up on that. Its about a 14 hour drive in a truck but I think I could manage it riding. Make a nice stop in Vegas on the way.

Nevermind they are up north. I usually hang out in the Ontario/Fontana area.

If I lived closer, I would definitely take them up on their offer.  I've had a couple of Corbin seats and they are great.

Hey Cowboy,

I'm interested in why you are looking for an aftermarket seat(hey, I don't want to miss out on anything!)

That "gator" seat, especially in brown, is the coolest seat I have ever come across, and it is really comfortable too.

Are you looking to get a seat w/o a pillion so that it's a single piece for both rider and passenger, or to find something more comfortable for long distance riding, or just a different look for the bike?

thanks

Jeff,

Actually, all of the above.  I really prefer the solo look.  Also, I need a backrest.  I've had a lot of bikes and not even one stock seat was even close to the comfort of a Corbin.  It looks like I'll either need to wait for Corbin to design one or go with another good aftermarket company. I think Mustang makes a good seat.

ah, yes a backrest.  completely understand.  When my wife had her Sporty, she put a Mustang single seat on with a back rest.  It was cool, because she could pull out the backrest on short rides around town and you would never know the backrest was ever there.

Cowboy couldnt agree with you more on the Corbin back-rest. Thats all Im used to ... But Ive put 700miles onto my Break Out with the existing seat to try it out ... my longest ride to date was 200miles in one sitting and to date I am surprised at the comfort from the standard seat. It is comfortable and there is a small lip to the rear of the seat which provides a little support.... going to wait it out for now as I have a 600mile ride to Africa Bike Week coming up end of April and this will be the true test .... Ciao

I see that Corbin now has a seat out for the Breakout, someone must have gotten the free one!!  It's only available in the Dual Tour version.  I was hoping they would come out with a Classic Solo and passenger pillion, I like that look a little better.

Much better pricing than "Bitchin Seats" and with a rider backrest.

I called them yesterday and they said that the Classic Solo is in development and should be on the market in a couple of months.

Just an FYI, when I purchased my seat I got my model number that I wanted from Corbin site and then called Rebecca @ Tri-County Harley gave info to her to order. 20% off and $10 to ship. Saved a bunch.
