I've been looking online for a windshield, haven't found anything yet that looks good.  Any ideas?  Too cold in this country not to have one.

IMHO every windshield will look like crap on a Breakout, I will not put anything on and I am also living in a chitty weather spot.
If push comes to shuf and I can stand it anymore I am switching on my electrical gear and fry/defrost myself a bit , is much
better that hiding behind a windscreen.

I got the compact quick-release windshield from HD.  Serves it's purpose, and pops right off when you don't want it.

I don't like that "clamp" system so I guess I will go without (would definatley be intested in an alternative if it becomes available.

Really, looking online, the only softail shield that has ok eye appeal is the fairing on the 12 softail Convertible.  Does anyone know if it can be made to fit?   Does anyone know where a guy could find one?

In Northwest Missouri they are required by law!  In Iowa, you are required by law to have a John Deere cab on all motorized vehicles (air conditioning is not required).  In Minnesota, engine block heaters and chains are required!

Most importantly, my wife says they are required!!

I don't mind my windshield. If I'm cruising around town I take it off, but if I'm on the highway it goes on. Too many damn bugs in Wyoming and really not a fan of being hit in the face. Not to mention that wind can kick up to 30mph at any given time.

I got the same and had it trimmed by about 3 inches.  For pure appearance, no windshield is the best choice.  But sometimes, due to conditions or even just my mood, I want a windshield for the ride.  Really really like the clamp system...true easy-on and off...literally done in seconds.  If I've ridden with it on, it comes off as soon as we arrive home.  Best windshield option IMHO.

I am worried about those clamps leaving marks on the upper forks- those of you that have them- do they leave marks of any kind?

Yes, there is a mark left from the rubber.  However, it is not a permanent mark and easily wiped/rubbed-off.  I remove the windshield when I return home and wipe off the marks with a wet rag.  Gone completely.

x2 I used quick disconnect clamps for my windshield on my WG, never a problem. I don't like windshields either, so they were put on for long highway rides.

Wrap a clear sticky tape  over the forks will protect the chrome

I have used the clamp on windshield twice now on a breakout. I can not see any marks at all on the chrome.
