Are you using the Ipod provided or something else?

Up until last week I was using a 120GB Ipod... been using it since 2008 with no issues... but lateley it has been doing as you described...

The HK deck with display on hookup a message indicating hard-drive type ipods can be damaged as a result.

Took a while but I guess they were right.

I'll hook my wife's ipod up and see if it behaves... its an older nano (solid state) versus mine which has a harddrive... or, I could take the one that came with my bike out of the box it came in and actually use it!

Thanks for your response!
I also tried my phone with XM streaming. Not totally sure that it wasnt a disruption in their service. Lets both try another Ipod and see what happen. If you can do it with the new one that would be great because I have 4 that are older.

Forgot to say it started happening with the new one first that came with the bike.

I have not had that issue with my 13 CVO King.  Ipod works fine as long as ignition is on.  My issue is that when stopped for a break, it does not resume the play list, but just starts playing a song and continues in alphabetical order.

Mine would randomly quit working while riding.  Upon restarting the bike it would work fine, until some point it would fail again.  Took it in to the dealer and they took it for a few rides with no failures.  As they were putting the bike away it quit working.  So they took it out again and could not determine what caused the failure, but that it would quit working.  They traced all the wires and failed to find any issues, so they replaced the amp and the connector to the ipod.  I haven't had any issues so far (200 miles without it cutting out).

Mine didn't work right from day one, traced it back to the interface module in located in the lid of the left saddle bag, I could actually get it to cut out by moving the wires around.  It would cut out randomly and back in just as randomly.  Had it replaced yesterday and so far so good, no issues today on a two hour ride.
