I ordered the H-D Premium ride shocks and fork kit last week for my bike. I went with the low profile rear shocks because the bike sat just a little high for my comfort when sitting still. I installed the shocks and I am much more comfortable when I put my feet down. Rode about 300 miles last weekend and it may be my imagination but it feels like the bike is handling better too.
I'm having the fork kit installed next week while they're doing my 1,000 mile service. Now I need to decide if I should lower the front end or leave it stock height. I asked the guys at the dealership but they don't want to commit either way. They're probably afraid I would blame them if I'm not happy with the result, but I'm really not like that. I'm leaning toward lowering it, hoping that if some is good more will be better, but I would really appreciate opinions from those with experience.
Will lowering the front too likely give me more benefits like better ride and handling over leaving it stock height? Might it cause any problems (I think I have room but might the footboards rub in turns)? Anything else I should think about or be aware of?
Thanks,
Joe
