Upgraded to Billet headlight
« on: April 12, 2013, 06:43:52 PM »

I only wish that I could remove the chrome cover, but other than that I'm pretty happy with the new look.

Well, after 40 views and zero reply's, I've come to the conclusion that I'm the only one that cares for this upgrade.  :nixweiss:

Oh, I never give my opinion on a mod unless the OP is specifically asking for it....sorry, didn't know you were!

i don't like it at all.  These are the types of headlight shapes that I see on Honda and Victory cruisers, and I think they really take away from the HD look.  In addition, the light extends too far in front of the house on the forks.  Looks disjointed from the rest of the front....

you did ask :-)

I have to agree, the stock headlamp actually looks better with the chrome front panel.  Remove the front panel and then I might like the new bullet light.  By the way, I said bullet because even though Harley calls it billet on the installation instructions, they also list it as bullet in the catalog.  I think the proper term should have been bullet, due to the shape.

You can remove that chrome front panel if you want to, it's a separate part and not an integral part of the forks or fork brackets.

You had t Ask. I like the light only if you can move rearwards to take up the GAP in the Nazzle.

Sorry to say I'm not a fan of this mod . . . but the important thing is that you like it.  That's why there's vanilla and chocolate.  To me the stock headlight is appropriately shaped and sized for the look of the bike.  I did not care for the stock headlight on my CVO Softail Convertible and had the Breakout not been released, would have chosen something from Headwinds.

Thanks guys for the feed back! Good or bad it's always good to hear other's opinions... :coolblue:  I agree about removing the chrome panel as I mentioned in the OP, but unfortunately it's covering up too much crap including part of the abs system which I wasn't aware of until I took it apart.

Change it back to the way it was.  That gaping gap is ugly!   :'(
