Calling on Canadian CVO owners!!
« on: April 13, 2013, 08:18:23 PM »

Are there any  CDN  CVO owners out there that are so disgusted with the incompetence of their local dealer that they have gone to a U.S. Dealer for warranty service? If so, I'd like to hear from you.

I am totally friggen fed up with the arrogance and ignorance of our local Dearler Principal that I wouldn't care to put another dime in his business. He's too friggen cheap to hire certified Harley mechanics (his response is that "he" is a certified Harley mechanic). The problem with that theory is that he was probably certified when they were still running panheads and shovels. Not current and neither are any of his wrenches.....I am so friggen pissed off - you can't even imagine! There that's better - let off a little steam.

No problems with the dealer down in my neck of the woods. I'm on my 2nd bike from this dealer and so far so good. The service dept. seems to know their stuff and so far I'm a happy camper.

Did have one but they are closed now. It was Toronto Harley. They were only 10 min, away from me.

I have gone to another dealer now and I am very happy with them. Mackie Harley. They are the furthest distance from me out of the 3 that we have here but it is worth it.

A dealer 3 hrs south of me has 5 (count em) CERTIFIED Harley Techs -2 of which are Master Techs. Our local shlep counts himself as a certified harley tech and NONE of his wrenches are certified by Harley or even motorcyle mechanics certified by Ontario Ministry of Trades. But Deeley (once again) lets them get away with chit like that. Some kind of longevity clause in his contract with Deeley, I'm told.

It's friggen bullchit but it will be worth the peace of mind travelling that 3 hrs. Just pisses me off that I have to do it at my expense for gas, etc. Enough said. sorry for sounding like a whiny lil bitch!

So you say that Toronto HD is closed (like out of business?) even at that new location they opened up off the waterfront? Wow. Mind you they were a Bimmer bike dealer as well weren't they? So that leaves you Mackie (good ppl), Jaycox and those jokers up in Richmond Hill right?

Im in Ottawa...The same guy owns the HD, and Honda/Yamaha dealers here and across the river.  I could go to Syracuse, or Kingston.

So far the service I have received from Freedom has been good.

I live in Calgary and locally for service, I'd go Gasoline Alley HD in red Deer 90 miles away and for any major tuning etc. I go to JARZ Performance in Abbotsford BC 600 miles away or Jim (Hddhude) @ Metal Dragon 1300 mile away or for exhaust work to Steve at Fullsac when I have the bike in Phoenix. I do my own service (fluid changes) etc. any ESP work I try and have done in Phoenix.

The original Toronto Harley was by the waterfront at Bathurst & Front St. The same owner owned the Lamborghini Dealership next to it. He then wanted to go big time and he opened a new custom building for about 18 million. It was at Victoria Park & 401. Bringing the Lamborghini dealership there too. He lasted less than a year and a half. The building has a for sale sign on it now. Mackie for me is great. Only good things to say about the service there. The guy who sold me my bike works there too. He left Toronto before they went bankrupt. Then Jacox and Davis in Richmond Hill. As for Davis that place just does not feel right anytime I walked in there.

What in the world would make you think that they would get better service in the US?  Heck, I was thinking of taking mine to Mexico for any servicing!
