Wind turbulence Road King 2013 CVO

I think the lower fairings cause more wind turbulence than the Road KINGS without the fairings

I do notice more turbulence on my FLHRSE5 than my previous RKC, and you are probably right about the lowers causing some of it. The windsplitter windscreen caused a lot, but replacing that with the OEM Road King windscreen helped a lot.

I agree that the lowers cause a lot of the turbulence.  I have tried bigger shields on this bike and still had turbulence that has not been there on other Kings.

So I have pretty much decided to run the stock shield as I did not think others did enough to eliminate the turbulence.  And I am not removing the lowers.

I have a 2011 with a 103.The power of the 110 is like night and day.But the is no getting around the fact that there is more turbulence.I am going to remove the lowers. It won't be long before I have a normal King.

Over 75 buffeting pretty bad.  I changed to an 18 inch RK windshield and that didnt help.  Plus it was too big.  Now I run a 16 inch, plus added a fork baffle (looks like half of an upside down bowl under the fork)
Helped a little, but already ordered a fairing

I guess I just do not understand the fairing on a road king.  If I wanted a fairing, I would get a street glide or road glide....Of course, I have a road glide

 :) - It is a Versatility Thing
2 latches and the fairing is Off, 2 latches and the Windscreen is on or off.

Same with the Tpack and Backrest/rack
