I find it very helpful when you walking away from your bike and your wife asks you for the 5th time"did you lock the bike" you can hold up the remote and hit the button.

The power locks are great, very handy. Power locks came stock, factory installed. If I was building a clone I don't know that I would pay that much to have them. But then I don't know why someone would want to build a clone CVO, I wouldn't but to each his own. Kinda depends on your overall plan.  :drink:

I'm trying to figure out what you mean when you say you are building a "Mock CVO".  If you are trying to make a bike look like it's a CVO and it's not...why?  If you are truly trying to build one with everything the CVO offers, it will cost you more than just buying one.  The CVO to me is more than just looking like one.  We buy them for the bigger engine, the paint schemes, and the added extras...and then we upgrade a lot of those things on top of it all.  As much as I think some of the paint schemes are okay, if I were going to put all of that money into upgrading a standard model, I could certainly come up with a better paint job than we get on the CVO's.  As far as the remote locks go, I just hope that I never have to own another bike without them.  They're like a cell phone to me...I can't remember how I ever got along without them.

I purchased a HD Classic so I can built the Custom I wanted, I like the CVO, Screamin Eagle concept, but I don't like some of the options on the CVO, personnel preference, that's why I went this route.
I don't want to go down the road of what I don't like about CVO's but I will take the highway of conceptions the CVO's bring.
I'm about 60% completed in building my bike, I'm doing some of the work, having a buddy help and complete other things such as electrical!
After pricing out the bag lock kit and the ignition, fork lock kit, I'm $1400 just for the parts, It's not worth it IMO!
A buddy of mine has a 2012 CVO street Glide that is on the lift 2 bikes over from me, for a radio, and front wheel upgrade, says mine is impressive, again, I like the CVO concept, and enjoy seeing these great machines.

Thanks all for your comments, this gives me the answer I needed.
For $1400, plus labor this is not for me, I understand it comes with the CVO but their is a reason whey they call the bike CVO, again, they are great bikes.

Power locks are very nice. I like them. While everyone is locking their bikes manually, I just hit the button. Done. Would I spend the money afterwards to add them to a bike without? NOPE.

I have a CVO tour Pack on my home brew bagger, it has the electric lock mechanism.
I would appreciate someone to show how I can wire it to work manually. ??

...........Also removing and reinstalling the saddlebags means you need to disconnect and reconnect the power source each time.

What's involved to remove the bags?
Thanks

The power source (behind the bag) has to be unplugged in order to remove each bag. Other than that saddlebag removal is the same as it is on all other touring models.
What he said x2. Takes an extra 5 seconds per side.

I'm building a MOCK CVO, and I'm asking how all of you like the power locks on your saddlebags and tourpak, is it worth the $700 investment?

I like that you do not risk scratch marks on the lids from locking/unlocking at night. I also LOVE that wheel lock that is included.

Out of curiosity, Why a "mock" CVO? I am guessing that by the time you spend the effort and money making a "mock" CVO, you could buy the real deal that would hold its' value a bit more than a non CVO model.
