Pipe recommendations

2011 RGU

I've been running supertrapps (w disk baffles) for the last 70,000 miles on my last 2 bikes (currently on the bike) with the Vance and Hines header and HD controller with dyno tune. They're awesome for long distance rides and passengers since they don't blow your ears out on a 1000 mile ride.

I'm looking for perspective for a slightly better sound without sacrificing power or going overboard... I've got the chopper to wake up the neighbors :)

I'm leaning towards rinehart, but looking for those who have run similar set ups (especially while touring)

It's all subjective, but thanks for the inputs.

I am surprised that no one has responded yet.  I am saving for the full sac stage one setup myself.  Not to loud but gets attention when you get on in. Keep the factory look and gain 15% more performance.  With spending so much on the bike it's hard to convince the other half to let me use the card right now.  That's why I am doing side work in the garage again.   This is one performance upgrade that is cheaper than others with out a bunch of headaches.  They are already worked out.  It's proven technology with plenty of threads on here to prove it.  It's made in America also. Just one persons thought.  Go to a few bike nights or poker runs and listen and look at what looks and sounds good to you that would be the best way so that you are happy with your choice and not what every else tells you to do.  I would also read a lot about tuners as well once you change the headers this is a must.  From I have gone over this one for over a year and made my decision based on what you are able to do with it and how easy it is to use and for future upgrades and changes if I decide to change cams or even if some new type of header design comes out.  I know this really don't tell you any thing because your going to get this and that is the best.  And most of the time it's going to be just a few numbers in torque and horsepower depending on different variables.  Customer service is another thing to consider as we'll.

There are several (hundreds?) of posts on this site re:  Fullsac.  I just went with their stage 1 kit and it is awesome.  Great sound with much improved performance over stock, using their baffles and TTS MasterTune w/dyno.  Steve @ Fullsac is truly keyed into our CVO strengths and weaknesses.  This is one case, imho, where you get much more than you pay for (compared to others out there).

I pulled the trigger and installed the Fullsac stage 1 last night, for $1081 a buddy and a case of Coors Light, hard to beat it.  Finished it late last night and wont get a chance to ride it until the weekend but she sure sounds nice with the 2.25 cores.

I would go to Bike events and check out the Bikes in the parking lots and talk to the owners. Have them start the Bike so you can hear and ask them questions about it. This way you get a true feel for what you want to buy. If you want something different than anyone else get custom pipes made like I did. I got custom S.S. stepped 2 into 1 pipes.
