Huh......  I never thought of hanging the bike upside down and just letting the cylinders fall off.  I always did it the hard way and lifted them by hand  :drink: .
Good one Don :drink: :huepfenlol2:

What tuner does Don recommend? What tuner does he tune with more often, and what works better according to him? If you guy's know?

He only uses the HD tuner- the SEPST.

Just thought I'd update this. I brought Don the HD piston/cylinders last Wednesday. He measured the fit, and found the pistons were a bit snug, as there was less than a thousandth clearance, so he'll open them up slightly. I'd say that this is a good thing, rather than them being too loose- improved QC, as he says he's seen lots of loose fits in the past.

I still can't get over the fact those granite cylinders only go for $115 each with the 20% off. I hear people talking about trying to have places match the granite powdercoat- why bother when you just buy new cylinders so cheap.

Anyways, I will hopefully get the bike back for the long weekend on Sat, or in not, Monday. Don normally doesn't do builds this time of year since he is swamped with tuning and porting jobs, and he only has mine and one other bike to finish off.

I can't wait, especially since I've missed 10+ days of 70-75 degree weather the last few weeks. Luckily, it's cool and rainy now, lol.

Finally picking the bike up tomorrow. My builder isn't happy with my Fullsac B X pipe- says I lost low end torque but gained HP....most HP he has seen from one of his 110 builds, but I'm more interested in the low end torque.

So, I'm in the market for a stock non-CVO 2009 headpipe if anyone has one. I'll get it ceramic coated and have him put it on and tweak the map later on down the road.

Not at all- just not quite as much as what his packages normally pump out with the gutted stock pipe.

I'll ride the bike tomorrow, and post up the dyno sheets, and we will see where we're at.

And, when I find an OEM headpipe and take it back for another tune/run in about a months time, I'll post those sheets too, and we will factually see what the difference is, all hype aside.

Ok, picked up the bike today.

Don says take it for a spin first. First thing I notice on start up- way different exhaust sound- sounds like a race car, seriously. I haven't heard CFR's in person, but from the videos I've seen, it's like my Rineharts sound more like CFR's now.

Next impression- engine is smooth and silent. Mind you, I've been lucky and never had a lot of ticking and valve train noise, but what little I had, it's all gone. Engine sounds as quiet as any non-HD bike I've owned. So, into gear it goes. As soon as I let out the clutch, she wants to go forward. No too-high-drive gearing chug either...it's just like I went to a 30T pulley. On to the road we go- the thing winds up unbelievably quick- I usually shift at 3000 rpms, but in no time it's up to 400 rpms- in a flash. Plus, the engine doesn't feel like it's laboring at all- it just revs effortlessly. It pulls amazing- it's like a totally different bike. I was up to 90 mph on the country road in no time.

Don Morris is a great guy. I spent nearly 2 hrs picking up the bike- you ask him one question and he will talk like a mad scientist for 15 mins giving you the technical answer.

I will post my dyno graphs, and I'm going to be ready for those who will think the numbers are total BS, and too good to be true. I couldn't believe the numbers myself, but knowing Don, there is no way anything is skewed- his knowledge and skills are that good, and as my bike was the 39th 110 engine he's done this too, I'd say he's got his package down pat.

The first chart is one of my baseline runs, and one final run. The second chart is my run vs another 2009 SERG he just did that has the OEM headpipe and Cobra slip ons (Don's favorite combo for torque). He says my HP is the highest he's ever seen, and credits the Fullsac "B" X pipe for that, but in the second chart you'll see I'm down 20 tq between 1500-2500 rpms, again due to the Fullsac he says. I plan to pick up a OEM headpipe, have it ceramic coated and have him do a quick re-tune.

His package is simple, and unlike "the American internet hype stuff", as he says- no big cams, big valves, 2-1 pipes, etc- just a common sense approach by a master of his craft (no offence to our American friends  :2vrolijk_09:)

Northstar,

Nothing rude to say, no point in it, but if you think you are going to make 118 hp out of a 255 cam you are going to be disappointed.   Even cams that are setup with more overlap, better lobe separation, and better cylinder fill arent making that kind of hp, but you have to be willing to except the data for it to be even relevent.   Yup you have a dynosheet that says X, Y are your numbers, but it also says it is as if it were a dynojet 100.   That is the catch where the numbers lose the validity.

Glad it runs well, maybe in the near term you will get the chance to put your bike on a dynojet 250i with Winpep 7, since it seems that has become the industry standard by which people are making most of the comparisons and then you too will have a good comparison to go from.

There are still several dynos across the country that haven't upgraded their software from say Winpep 6 to winpep 7 why cause they show approx 10% higher on the numbers and numbers sell builds / business.

If said individual's mother actually wears combat boots this would merely be a statement of fact and not a rude remark.
