120R 2013 Anniversary CVO Road.. I must be nuts
« on: May 15, 2013, 08:46:48 PM »

After months of searching, I finally located and closed a deal on a 2013 anniversary CVO Road King. As excited as I am about the bike, I had the "misfortune" of of riding a Road Glide with a 120R the week prior so.....

I've got my dealer working on swapping the zero mile SE110 with a 120R....Nuts I must be.  :P

I'm trying to address the warranty (or lack thereof) through aftermarket options and still need to decide on exhaust (thinking Bassani with a ghost pipe), clutch and a way to add adding passing lights without ruining the front-end of the CVO looks.

I can't seem to stop smiling  ;D

I just purchased passing lamps and turn signals that mount on the fork. Will post pics next week when installed

Thanks All!

I picked her up on Saturday (#254/900) I had just about given up on finding this one - I'm so glad I waited. First impressions have been great. I decided to enjoy the bike over the summer and wait until winter for the 120R. She goes back to the dealer next week for,

 - Exhaust swap - Bassani Road Rage II B4 w/ghost pipe
 - Addition of Passing lights with Phase 7 LEDs using the custom Aux brackets and relocation of the turn signals
 - Phase 7 LED Headlight and high beam/passing light override
 - SEPST

Also adding the Streamliner passenger boards with the adjustable mounts and using the existing pegs as highway pegs with the 360 mounts. I'm hoping the weather holds so I can get 500 miles on it before she goes back in for pipes and dyno/tuning.

I'm really surprised how much I'm enjoying the sound system - I've never had music on a bike before and at times, it's a really nice addition. The ONLY disappointment has been the Windsplitter  - IMO, it's completely useless for a rider over 6'1". I'm gong to order a stock RK shield.

You're not nuts.

Got mine in Nov.  Put a Fullsac head pipe, and 2.25 baffels in and a TTS tuner with 50 miles on the bike.  Then put 1000 miles on it in less than 72 hours, got the 1K service done.  Then in the next 3 weeks rode it until I had 2505 miles on it.  Then we took the top end apart, put 259E cams in it, sent the heads off for porting and polishing, 10.5 to 1 pistons, a 55 mm HPI throttle body, and 5.3 GPH injectors.

Then had it Tuned by Doc.  Over 120 HP and over 120 Torque, long flat torque curve, a total blast to ride.  I have just over 6600 miles on it now.  I also have in that time put 6K on my CVO Road Glide.

Have you considered headwinds Lights
http://www.headwinds.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=headwinds01&Category_Code=010101

They make a mounting bracket for my FLHRSEI2 that fits perfectly, when you remove the air deflector in the Nacelle. Has longer bolt and channels for the wires.
I went with the 2" Spotlights and 60w bulbs
Light Bar & Bolt Kit - 2' Spotlights - FLHR
http://www.headwinds.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=headwinds01&Product_Code=2-2406A&Category_Code=

You can also get combo Spotlight/Turn Signal setup

IMHO, the 2" setup maintains the SERK look.

Thanks All!

She goes in for the new exhaust (Bassani RRII B4 w/Ghost), Passing lights, turn signal relocates and LEDs next Wednesday  - Can't wait to get rid of the stock exhaust.

I also ordered a Bluetooth receiver so I can stream music (MOG) through my cell rather than use the iPod. I'm also hoping to be able to pull a bit more base than seems possible with the iPod.

All in all I LOVE this ride. My only complaint thus far is the Windsplitter. At 6'2" I find it useless. Planning on replacing it with a stock RK shield.  I've worked out a warranty arrangement with my dealer for the 120R, so I'm planning on riding this summer and doing the engine over the winter.

What a  great night - Evening ride covering about 100 miles of the area's most twisty roads - I LOVE this bike  ;D

I installed the Bluetooth receiver (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00727FE5U/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1r) allowing me to stream music from; and use the equalizer in my Note 2. To my ear, I'm able to achieve a bit more base than the iPod provides.
