The CVO bikes had their problems back when they were "hand built" by two people as well.

A modern production line where a given worker installs parts A, B, or C, and has the proper torque wrench preset for those parts, is, IMO, a better process with regards to quality control.

Quality Control is something that is overlooked as far as i'am concerned with the CVOs...Over priced, over rated. Especially over here in Australia. $47,000.00 for a RK CVO. Convert that to the US Dollar. Would I buy another one. Not a chance in hell. The tool kit should come with double sided tape.

I would have guessed the parts separately would cost more & if you wanted some upgrades you'd have parts that no one wants!  Sounds like you're the tool kit!

:bananarock:......Yes sir. The tool kit is nothing. Couldn't really give a rats arse about it really. Replaced with a better set up already. As I posted prior. I thought owing to the condition of the Kit, I thought it may have been swapped over whilst getting it's third lot of ''Warrenty'' work done. No big one. My last comment is more of a snipe at the Quallity control. Or lack of Quallity . Like. What sort of Quallity is using double sided tape to hold things in place.....Amplifier in Panier for example. Yeah yeah yeah.....I'am a fussy bastard. And a bit of a complainer. But when you pay the price we pay for these things. $47,000.00 AUstralian converted to USA dollar = $45,500.00 round abouts. I would exspect something a little bit better then Double sided tape and a $5.00 tool kit that most BMX riders wouldn't use on their Bikes......To say I'am a little pissed off with CVO.... :soapbox:.....You bet ya marble sized aggotts I am. 5th Harley I have ever owned...First CVO. And have had 3 Warrenty claims on this bucket already. 4000km old.
But in reality.....Comming to a CVO Forum and complaining about the beloved CVO bikes is like running into a Klu Klux Klan meeting dressed as Martin Luther King. :2vrolijk_21:

Ozrobo, I'm not so sure I wouldn't feel the same way if had the issues you have had, as well as paying the price you did.  Once the bugs are worked out, you jump on that ride and split some wind to relieve that distress.  I did notice the Tool Kit was comprised of cheap crap, but I already used up my one "Whiney Post" in complaining that they discontinued the Gold Keys, so now I just log some miles and feel a whole lot better.  Good Luck, Mate, and try to dodge the joeys as you work off that frustration. :2vrolijk_21:

Orono, it's not that your comment was on A CVO site, it's like the tool kit is so irrelevant to the bike, most of the time it's for others!  Not to mention I didn't get one with my Dyna CVO, just the baggers, so 'Who Cares Wins!'  great song by one of my fav bands, anyone know without Google??   :vrolijk_24:

Just to clear things up ol mate.....Feel privileged, because I usually don't worry to much about clarification. As original post. I was more concerned that some tight fisted fool swapped my kit with their some what worn, tired, half supplied kit while the bike was tucked away getting repairs done.. :nixweiss:
But obviously judging by some of the replies.....Nope :2vrolijk_21:...It's just normal for HD to supply a kit that will last no longer then half filled franger at a cum guzzlers convention...
And your right. The kit is irrelevant to the bike.... :2vrolijk_21: If I have one more bit of trouble with this thing.....I'll burn the bike and treasure my tool kit. Even thou it looks like a homeless drunk.

Considering how reliable Harley's are, I think we should recommend they eliminate the tool kits on all future production.  It's obviously not necessary, and the money they save could buy a round or two for the execs at the local watering hole.
