I was just throwing a filler out there, didn't mean anything buy it.  I wouldn't be crazy enough to spend $40K on any Harley, but I couldn't believe cycletrader.com was selling the same bike for $35K!!!!  Its just good to know that our Breakout will never loose it's value and that's a good thing.  We own a collectors item, as long as they don't build another breakout in the years to come.....

Imagine owning a collectors item made by the motor company.
In maybe 50 years it could be possible.

1 year production....   That usually means...   NO DEMAND for that model

A few tidbits of reality for you:

A bike for sale on Cycletrader for $35k is not a good way to measure value. A bike sold for $35K would be better.
"Collectors item" is a very dangerous concept. Your bike will depreciate about $1K/year even if you don't ride it.
The list of production motorcycles (even 'limited production' motorcycles) that appreciate in value is limited indeed.

Enjoy your new ride. They'll be making more if there is demand. Just talk to a Deuce owner.

The value to me is the unique flavor of the FXSBSE.  Dollar value is not important to me because it will always be worth more to me than anyone else anyway.

With the scads of HD's on the road it's just so nice to have something very different than everyone else.

Only 550 or so crimson red copies in all of the US(as of 2013 production)...........That's "collector" enough for me!

I still have yet to see another Breakout, of any color, on the road here in/around VA.  I did get a few extra looks and nods at Rolling Thunder!!

I know we are way off topic here, but there are already a few posts on this tanget !

I was helping out my local dealer this weekend being a leader/trailer for the HD demo rides sat and sun.

I took both my bikes because i wanted to get some riding done out in the country on both of them when i wasn't working the demo rides.

Must have been 50 or 60 people each day just blown away by the look, and sound, of the Breakout, wanting to talk about it.  90% of them had no idea what it was....I like that.

One guy paid me the ultimate compliment.  He said he couldn't decide if it looked more like a Deuce or a Rocker-my thoughts exactly when i first laid eyes on the bike.  Two of my favorite Softails rolled into one bike with some added unique stylings.

The standard Breakout was part of the demo fleet and it was checked out for every demo run on both days.....sounds like people wanted to see what all the fuss was about regarding the new addition to the Softail lineup.

One funny thing.  A few times I was a little behind the demo riders getting all my gear on to go out on a run, and all 18 demo bikes would already be started and ready to go.  I would crank up the CVO with the V/H 2-2, and everyone looked around to see what it was....my one bike exhaust was louder than 18 stock exhaust bikes-all running at the same time

Anybody that buys a Harley as an investment, thinking that it will increase in value needs to get some serious financial counselling.

On June 15th I walked into my local Harley dealership and saw my first Breakout CVO. It was the Gold Dust color. It had a sold sign on it and I told the salesman I wanted one and he said good luck. He said he had guys from all over calling looking for one. A week later I started my search and after calling 43 dealers I found one in North Platt, NE. I found 2 Red and one silver which is about 10% of the dealers had one or had one coming I could buy. So they are still out there and near MSRP. Waiting for mine to get.
