Road Tech 660 Traffic Install GTM12 on USB?
« on: May 18, 2013, 11:03:12 PM »

Hello,

So I bought a new Typhoon Maroon CVO Ultra last week, and knowing it was going to come with the Zumo 660 I went on ebay and bought the GTM 20 traffic adaptor before I bought the bike.
Lo and behold, when I get the bike, i discover, it only works with the Automotive mount, and not the motorcycle mount.
After a little research, I have heard of people using a GTM 12 Traffic receiver on the USB plug on the inside of their fairings from the wiring harness of the Zumo installs.

What I need to know,
Has anyone opened up their fairing on the 2013 Ultras and found the USB plug available, or is it in use by something else?

I just want to double check it is available for me to plug the traffic adaptor into before I waste another $50 on ebay.
If it is available, then I guess I found the solution to getting traffic reports on the 660 and mounting it inside the fairing as well!

Thanks!

The USB connector is in the cowling. Finding it may be a pain but it is there. Just find the main cable coming from the GPS and follow it until you find the USB connector. The main cable splits into 4 cables, power, Audio Output, Microphone Input and USB.
