Check Engine Light came on.
« on: May 20, 2013, 12:35:38 AM »

The "Check Engine Light" came on on my 2013 SEUC and I checked the code and it showed PO107.
I cleared the code and started the bike again and the Check Engine Light came on again and the same code.
Does anyone have a list of the codes and can tell me what it indicates or what the possibilities are??
There were some Pn numbers that showed up as well when I checked the other diagnostic areas.

I believe it is map sensor open or low.   It could be unplugged.  Has any work been done to the bike lately.

The connector I believe is between the cylinder heads somewhere.   I don't know how to explain it typing.

I hope I am right about the map sensor.  But am pretty sure.  I would put money on it but have been none to lose once and a while.

Thanks Todd, I will check that out.
I've had the bike up on the lift giving it a good cleaning and waxing.
I cleaned the top of the engine and I wonder if maybe I inadvertently disturbed that sensor connection??

I tried finding a connector above the engine to no avail.

Does anyone out there know where the map sensor on a 2013 SEUC is located??

Thanks,

This is what I find in my 2011 FLHTCUSE6 electrical service manual --

Behind the air cleaner there should be three connectors two are for the Automatic Compression Releases and the third is the TMAP - the TMAP looks like it's an 8 pin connector. Your P0107 code is TMAP sensor open/low.
I would take the air filter and cover off and check the connector - might be unplugged or may have gotten moisture in it when you were detailing the bike.

If I had more time this morning I would scan the appropriate pages for you - I might be able to do that tonight if needed

See exploded drawing attached.  Item #9 is the TMAP sensor, and the harness plugs in where my upper red arrow is pointing.

First make sure it's fully plugged in.  Second, check the wiring to it and verify it's still intact.  Third, make sure it is clean.  Remove it and spray some carb cleaner at it.  Fourth, if it still throws a code, replace it...   :2vrolijk_21:

A friend and I took a wrong turn when on a ride and wound up on a very dusty road and when I got back home and let the bike cool down I took a hose and rinsed every thing very thoroughly before taking the air blower to it.
Then I spent the next few days polishing and waxing before I fired the bike up again. Thats when the code showed up.
I probably caused the problem myself.
One, too much water.
Two, waiting too long before firing the bike up again.

With the good info I've gotten from this site, tomorrow I will spray contact cleaner on the connector and put a dab of Di-Electric contact grease on it and see if that cures the problem.

I'll post the results.

Thanks,

I cleaned the Tmap sensor but it is still throwing a code.
I'll trailer it into the dealer later this week and get them to check it out.
I guess that's what the warrantee is for.
I guess I sprayed it down too much with the hose.
Didn't see any signs of moisture or corrosion though.

When I was checking the various diagnostic areas for codes there were some Pn #'s that would come up.
One at each of the diagnostic areas.
Can someone tell me what those numbers are?

Lars,

The part numbers always come up and don't mean you have a problem with them.  For instance, after reading all the codes the last thing that shows is the part number of the module involved.

Thanks, I thought those were probably part numbers.
