Battery Tender Harness
« on: October 01, 2006, 06:24:40 PM »

I'm sure most of you use a battery tender on your bikes.  I always have.  I also use the adapter to the harness for heated clothing in the winter months.

My question is, where do you have your pigtail mounted for easy access?

On my last Ultra, I had it coming out from under the seat, just forward of the saddlebag on the left side.  Anyone come up with a better solution?

I have mine running from the Batt box down to a hole in the frame right by the rear jug, when not using it I just push it in and you cant tell it is there.

Ace,

Mine is routed out the bigger hole forward of the battery compartment and adhered to the sheet metal with exterior grade two sided mounting tape.  This works great for me, since I park on the right side of the garage next to the wall where the charger is located.  The charger lead is long enough to reach the bike, so I don't need to leave the harness connector loose.  For those who need to pull out the harness to use it, the same idea would work by substituting velcro for the two sided mounting tape.  Photo attached (please ignore the rather filthy condition of the bike - with our recent lousy weather, all decent days are spent riding, not cleaning).
