Give you an excuse to get some stainless steel fasteners too.  The screws are usually the first to start to go.  And they look sooooo much better!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Headed to the "Rock". Man that brings back memories I served a year there back in 1976. Was stationed at Camp Hanson 7th Comm. Battalion. Sorry for getting off topic, just you brought back some memories. Heh, I know this great place to go........ oh wait they are probably really old now, never mind. ;) [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

So I shouldn't have any wories? Just keep her clean and washed/waxed? I can handle the transition to stainless, for sure.
BTW dOOd, having spent several years in the Pacific Theatre already, I can tell you...the "old places" keep up with time. LOL

I wouldn't underestimate yourself, it seems you have no problem handling "Orange & Black", and from what I hear she is the toughest thing out there.   ;D

I worried about this when I moved to FL.  Just wash frequently, even if it's just a rinse-off.  Dry it off afterwards and wax it often.  Cover it and keep it garaged.  Occasionally use S100 anti-corrosion spray, especially if it's going to sit for a while.  Use a q-tip to get this stuff into the allen head bolts.  The closer you are to the water, the more salt film it will catch from the air.  I'm about 2 miles (as the crow flies) and I keep mine covered in a garage.  So far, no problems.

Thanks RedFXR2,

I'll be about 200 meters from the beach on Camp Foster.

A lot closer than I am. Does the wind tend to blow into shore there?  If it's coming off the water a lot, then get religious about fresh water rinse offs and keep it covered and inside if at all possible.

probably should have added that I did not have a garage in California.

Living in Florida presents the same challenges, but as Red pointed out, it is a LOT easier with a garage, where you can simply wash/polish your ride and keep it inside.
