I figured out in the past few days what bothered me so much about the way the faceplate turned out. It totally took over, because it's pushed out while all the rest of the gauges are inward. It also bugged the OCD part of me that it wasn't done evenly...and she mixed small and big stones in on it.  Funny you should mention Las Vegas Casinos, Ken, because I live in Vegas, baby! :) I'm used to Bling.  :apple: :coolblue: :cherry: :2vrolijk_21:

I think what I would like could go four ways:

A. Leave the faceplate in chrome only, no bling
B. Do just the outline of the circle only around stereo gauges which will just add a little bling to the bottom of the dash (This is how I am leaning most heavily at the moment)
C. Do the outline of the stereo and also the indicator gauge that was formerly in the Diamond Ice
D. Leave it all off after getting the ignition key done, it might be more than enough with the upper gauges alone.

I wanted more than just the 2 pieces available in Diamond Ice, and I wanted Scarlett to look different than everyone else. I agree, the whole faceplate done in red does look over the top. It bothered me from the minute it was put on. I kinda thought tacky, too.

My husband thinks Scarlett is totally over the top anyway, totally guy thing. My mom's favorite color was red, though, and like I said, I wanted unique, not white Crystal like most folks would do. I LOVE how the latches and fob switch look and even the gauges, it's just that one push out piece that has bugged me.

I appreciate all the honest replies. :)

Ok, I knew I wasn't going to keep it as it was, but it looks kinda lonely with option D. That stupid indicator gauge should NOT be in tacky black plastic with all the rest of the chrome.

Jill, didn't mean to be harsh!

What I did on the Honey Badger was install the chrome indicator cover, the chrome fairing skirt cover, and the brushed aluminum face plate on the radio. That gives some bling and breaks up the solid color without getting gaudy. I really have never cared for the big Ultra chrome faceplate around the radio and gauges anyway, especially on a SESG. Just a suggestion!

Oh, not at all harsh. I didn't know there was just a chrome indicator cover.....hmmm. I could just get that, bling it, and leave the rest... But then, I didn't want to do the bottom part and didn't really care for the brushed faceplate.  Hmmm, still may end up just doing around the speakers and leaving the rest chrome on the faceplate. I really haven't ever noticed the seuc much to tell the truth...so I really don't knowhow much the fairing looks different.

Like Styx said - You got TOO MUCH TIME on your hands, Goul!

Personally, I think those pink stars clash with my Hot Citrus... I think chrome ones would be a better choice. Perhaps you should take an art class and learn about color palettes...  :nixweiss:

After much thought......

Okay Ken and Stu,  I think the chrome indicator cover is the answer. I looked at the fairing all day without the faceplate, discussed it with a few other friends...it makes sense, all the stereo pieces left alone, and that fugly black indicator with small stones, makes a small bling, rest is clean looking.

Hope they will take back that chrome faceplate (the unused one).  I didn't even know the chrome indicator gauge was out there.

Thanks everyone,
Jill

Got the chrome indicator, whoo hoo. The gal that has done the bling also said she liked it better with the stereo stuff left alone, lol and here I was trying not to hurt her feelings that I  thought the red faceplate was gaudy.

Probably won't get my ignition fob piece until next week, it isn't back from the chromer's yet. Looooove everything that I have now. So by next week Scarlett will be done for the near future, at least.  Still waiting on my solo luggage rack to arrive and I do need a clutch lever, but that's about it. Oh, and.... (To be continued).....

It's a sg.   Remember less is more??  Bling on a Seeg is not really necessary.  Just sayin'  :nixweiss:
