It's hard to part with an FXR

Sadly, I put my beloved FXR3 on Craig's List this morning. I bought this limited-edition beauty new, in 1999. It was the first of the factory customs (CVO's). Only were 900 made (fewer than 500 in metallic green). I retired a couple of years ago and the nature of my riding has changed from around-town cruises to long tours. I tried a couple of simple mods ... high-flow air cleaner, clip on windshield, luggage rack, and removable leather bags. But this old body fades quickly after a 500-mile day on the FXR. I love the reliable  Big Twin evo motor. And the bike was featured in several articles published in RIDER and RoadRunner. But the trusty, green-flamed FXR3 has to go to another good home.

Have to agree X2 here....keep it for around town riding.

Also, research shows that that your scooter, production numbers show approx. 621 1999 FXR3 in Candy Emerald Green w/flames.  It's a great bike...brother, ya gotta keep her.... :2vrolijk_21:

I'll be selling my 2000 FXR4 in Sreamin yellow very soon.  They are great bikes, but I do like the fairing and tunes.  The FXR doesn't get enjoyed enough.

Other than not havin an fxr and the Bruins losing, ok.... ;)
Stay well, ride on!..we'll try an say hey this fall, we should be upta mass...toss back a coupla jahs.. :drink:
