I think I may have found the second best way to see the USA.  Or at least the northern route from Chicago to Los Angeles,  May 16, I flew to Chicago Midway Airport where my first cousin, Tom picked me up in his 2013 Corvette Coup, one of the last of the C-6's.  He had told me his dream was to drive it to CA to show it to my Father (his Uncle) and me.  When I told him that he and his wife could stay with me as long as they liked, he told me she was not coming.  I made a flight reservation that day and flew out May 16.

I was able to see my niece graduate from St. Mary's of Notre Dame Nursing School in South Bend, IN and attend a family party in Munster, IN.  I won't bore you with those pictures but I thought you might enjoy some pictures of the trip.  We left Naperville, IL Monday, May 20 and visited the HD Museum in Milwaukee WI.  Then we headed west avoiding the interstates whenever possible.  Here is a link to 100 of the nearly 700 photos:

BTW, "Buzz and Todd" were the characters from the TV show "Route 66" in the early 60's.
Tom spent 37 years in police work, 9 on LAPD.  Later he became COP in Thorton, IL and retired as Deputy Chief in Wheaton, IL.  Hence, this photo:

Enjoyed your photos.  We've covered a lot of the same territory.  There are a couple dozen of your photos that are near duplicate of photos I have, except for your and your cousin's mug in them instead of me and my riding buddy (and our wives).  I know just how fantastic your trip was!   :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks for the kind comments!  It was a "trip of a lifetime" but I hope I get in lots more on two or four wheels.

Last year, Fox posted an article, 20 places every American should see.  It's just one list but I'm grateful to have seen 18.  The two I have yet to see are in bold.

Highway 1, Calif.
French Quarter, New Orleans, La.
National Mall, Washington, D.C.
Las Vegas Strip, Las Vegas, Nev.
Yellowstone National Park, Wyo.
Times Square, New York City
Nashville, Tenn.
Grand Canyon, Ariz.
Hollywood Walk of Fame, Los Angeles, Calif.
Disney's Magic Kingdom, Orlando, Fla.
Independence National Historical Park, Philadelphia, Penn.
Taos Pueblo, N.M.
Fenway Park, Boston, Mass.
South Beach, Miami, Fla.
Civil Rights District, Atlanta, Ga.
Gettysburg National Military Park, Gettysburg, Pa.
Architecture in Chicago, Ill.
Ellis Island, N.J.
Pearl Harbor, O'ahu, Hawaii
Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City, N.Y.
