Fulsac Sound
« on: June 02, 2013, 04:04:10 PM »

I had the VH power duals and CFR exhaust on my old FLHTK. I am looking for a new exhaust on the new CVO. The old CFR's had a great sound at first and is nice on the short runs but after a 3-4 hour ride, my ears are ringing. I am looking for something with a little less volume, especially at highway speeds (gotta be able to hear the tunes). I have heard some good things about the Fulsac mods but can't seem to find a decent sound clip. Is there anyone that has heard both the CFR as well as the Fulsac w/ 2.0 inch baffle that can give a comment on them. Or is there anyone in/near the Piedmont Triad area of NC that has a set on that I can listen to?

Alternatively (and I know this has been asked many times and likes/dislikes are subjective but perhaps with a little more detailed questions, I can narrow it down), I am looking for the low rumble and a bark when I get on it but while at cruising speed, I want it to quiet down. I have found many sound clips of other exhausts but they are all at idle or when throttled. they all sound nice but I can't seem to find a sound clip of one at cruising speed. Suggestions anyone?

I don't have the fulsac, nor do I have a sound clip of my exhaust at cruising speed. But I will try to do that. When I bought my cvo ultra I talked to the owner of the dealership, this is a hands on guy, works there 7 days a week, and is always accessible. I told him I wanted the deep, low rumble that sounded like a harley but still hear the stereo at cruising speeds. He suggested the S&S power tune dual header pipes. Even my dyno guy agreed. They are the best fitment for the harley and they create a nice sound. I went with the Vance & Hines monster rounds as one of their suggested slip ons. There are no you tube videos of these together, but they are sweet. Nice low deep rumble, they can bark when I roll on it hard, but I can hear the stereo well. I may have to bump up the sound a notch or two here and there but they work well together and no problems after long rides.

I have a clip here on this site but that was before I got it dyno'd. I'll do another sound clip soon now that it has been dyno'd. And maybe I can get one at cruising speeds

then Fullsac is what your looking for get the 2.25 SD cores....great bark when you get on it...also a low deep idle sound but on the highway it quiets down great for long rides I was out for 5 hours the other day...no problems and can still hear the radio....but of course when you get on it you can hear it! :2vrolijk_21:
