Hydrolic Clutch Issues
« on: June 04, 2013, 10:13:41 AM »

2008 CVO Ultra. 33k miles  Issue:  Clutch slipping in higher gears when clutch gets warmed up.  Replaced clutch with new Screamin Eagle Harley Clutch.  (Dealer Installed)  Same issue.  Returned to dealer and not clutch pops on low gear torque out.  Noticed some slip last trip out.  Any ideas?

Checked hydraulic oil.  Seems to be ok. Not quite at top of reservoir.  The clutch does not catch in first gear till clutch handle is nearly all way out.  Is that typical of h clutches?  Regular clutches will catch as soon as you let out the handle if new.

Interesting.

I've got nearly the opposite problem.  I get no slippage at all, but when releasing the lever when starting from a stop, the clutch starts to take up, then the last bit of engagement is very abrupt.  I've changed primary fluid from whatever was in there (Syn3 I'd imagine) to B&M Trick Shift, and verified that the level was correct.  It still happens.

With the cable clutch in my Limited or my Night Train, I could/can run the bike through cones in a parking lot at walking speed without issue.  Not so with the one.
