Arches National Park
« on: June 13, 2013, 05:06:13 PM »

Has anybody ever been there and is it worth the stop? Going to the Grand Canyon from Iowa but if it is worth the stop we would do that too. Thanks.

As long as you're in the area, Arches National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park are must visits!  You could spend a couple weeks in Southern Utah and never run out of incredible sites to visit, but these two are my favorites... :2vrolijk_21:

I actually prefer Bryce and Zion to Arches.  But only barely.  It's all outstanding.

Southern Utah has some of the most amazing sites/sights in the world.  It would be a shame to be that close and not see them.  Bryce, Zion, Arches, Canyonlands would each need a full day to see anything.

Just don't let the polygamists get ahold of you.   ;)

On the way to Santa Fe we are going to Archs, Zion, Bryce, Mesa Vardi, and Black Canyon National Parks, taking the slow boat and stopping to smell the roses!
We did Zion, Bryce, Grand Cyn. No. & So. last year, loved them so much we're going back for another look. The hikes in Archs are short to see some amazing beauty, GO!

Rode there a few years ago and want to get back there to check out the finer points that I missed the first time

Zion and Bryce were much better than Arches, but its 3 different places with different looks and all are worth seeing.

Thanks. We will be sure to stop. Maybe hit some other spots also. We leave the Fri. 21st plan on being in that area on Sun. Then down to the Canyon. Anything will be good once we get out of Ne. Thanks again.

If you enter Utah on Interstate 70 heading west, take exit 214 to Highway 128 into Moab.  It follows the Colorado River, and is an incredibly scenic ride...  One of the most scenic roads in the state...
