There was an initial delay of about 2 weeks. These bikes were going through very rigorous QC, so not to give the naysayers ammo, and word is they found something they didn't like on an OEM part that was cosmetic, but they still didn't want to let them out the doors. Something HD could take a lesson from after reading the many horror stories about the new showerheads puking coolant.

As for selling better than expected, they sold 250 into Australia the first week they launched - considering the size of that market, that's a pretty big demand. They also ran out of the 1901 numbered bikes in about 6 weeks. They also cut back any dealers preorder of 7 bikes to 2 bikes each because of the demand from paying customers.

Are those volumes anything HD should be worried about - not yet.

I don't know any one that paid for a new bike, deposits only.

I put a deposit on a red vintage in early Aug. and picked the bike up i Calgary AB on Oct 3 (first one on the street in AB) #749 of 1901. Road it 800 Km. home in +6-8 degree weather and loved every minute. Won't replace the HD's I have (yet)

Good grief I'm glad that bike is in Canada. If it were close enough I could go take a look at it and bum a ride would be in deep chit.

I was thinking the same thing, but Alberta is a long way from Ontario!   :(

Some dealers are reporting that many have sold more Indians in the month since launch than they have Victory's all year and 80% of the customers are HD riders.

No surprise on the 80% being HD riders customer base.   It was bound to happen, we just needed something that answered our needs for another alternative.  Having choices and competition can only help.  Wish I was 30 years old again to see what the outcome will be.

Congratulations, that is an awesome looking bike! And it comes standard with chrome lowers, chrome switch housing, all leather seat, wide white walls, chrome spoke wheels, ABS and the more powerful Thunder Stroke 111, all at a very reasonable price.

It looks like your bike has the stage one kit. Does that include a ECM download?

It is stage one with download
