Has anyone put on a Kuryakyn chrome neck cover on their CVO Ultras?

The ones I have seen in the past always seemed too gaudy to me,,,,  I like the plain look.      Just sayin.  :nixweiss:

Gotta agree with Stu. Most of Kurys chrome trinkets fall into the gaudy/cheap looking category IMO

I have the Kury chrome neck covers. I like them a lot... they cover up all of the unsightly cables on the neck and brighten up the entire area. I agree that most of the Kury stuff does look gaudy and it not my style - but I do like the neck covers for the '09 and later Touring bikes. I also have the Kury chrome CVO starter cover, and I like that, too... it covers the ugly black starter and brightens up the area behind the engine.

I did have to do some dremelling to make room to run the hydraulic clutch line under the neck cover on the right side. I had to cut away some of the cover and grind the opening down at an angle so it would be smooth and not cut into the clutch line.

Here's a pic... In it you can see the fairly large opening I had to cut in the cover, and you can see where the clutch line goes under the cover right above the engine guard. That is where I had to grind away that opening at a severe angle on the back side, so the clutch line would not be damaged.

I thought there would have to be some fitting of the neck cover. Thanks for the reply and the explanation Ken. I also agree that most of Kuryakyn stuff is gaudy, but they do have some good pieces, and the neck cover is one of them. I had one on my 08 Ultra but wasn't sure how it would work on the CVO because of the hydraulic clutch line. Thanks again for the tip.

Hey Hep,
Gotta agree with the gaudy part but the black cover cleans up the area really well, doesn't stand out as another piece of "add on chit", and IMO looks good. JMO  :bananarock:

I know, JR... it's embarrassing! I took the trip down to FL the week before last, and have been so busy pressure-washing the decks and restaining them, along with pool maintenance and landscape maintenance, I just haven't had time to wash the poor old Honey Badger.

I mentioned to a buddy yesterday that I was embarrassed to even post that pic because the bike is so filthy!

Sometimes the picture will make the bike look dirty and isn't. I wasn't sure. Know you mentioned a lot of rain in your area earlier and thought it may have been taken after one of them rides. Anyway hope I didn't offend you by calling it out...I was just pulling your chain Ken and showing how anal I am. Love ya man, God Bless!

Nope, but then I wanted the cable to show so I didn't try to hide it going down the leg (you can see it in the pix) but I have extra wiring from speakers I've installed in the lowers that are now hidden.

One thing to note is that Kury adds a bunch of pieces of foam which they don't explain in the installation instructions. If you decide to use them just know that the fit is going to be REAL tight and somewhat a pain in the butt but doable.
Not sure what year your scoot is or if it makes a difference (note above) - you're lookin' at a 2005 SEEG :bananarock:
