Here is a standard with chromed stock wheels, chromed forks, CVO bars, chromed heat shields, and sprocket.  Basically the dealer was replicating a CVO as much as he could.  $22.5k.
It looks great !

couple of things about this.  Not sure why someone would pay $25k for a standard BO with jewelery on it when there are real CVO BO's with the 110b motor, seat, custom paint, slipstream controls, chrome oil pan, cruise, hidden cabling, ABS, braided brake lines,  etc,  sitting on dealer floors for $26,400?

Also, dressing up the standard does not get the CVO look to me, especially the bottom picture.  It's too chunky-not sitting at the correct CVO ride height.  Just does not have that low-slung bad a** look.

To each his own I suppose, but IMO, this is NOT an example of imitation being the sincerest form of flattery.... ;)

The CVO has a different ride height? I did not know that.

ActuallY the price was $22,500.   Sorry.

I thought it was good looking myself.  But I also dig the standard version (what you call "chunky" is what I like about it!)

I didnt know there are CVO's for that price still available.  Hmm..
Where?

Im in Southern CA.

The bottom line is...

The breakout is a fantastic platform to work with.  If it is CVO or standard.  Make it your own and don't give a heck what anyone says.  That is the beauty of this "hobby" we are into!

numerous posts recently have mentioned several on dealer floors. there were several reds and a black mentioned just in the last couple of days on this forum that I saw.  i mentioned the list price, as I am assuming at this late stage of availability that some dealers have had them awhile on the floor, so the price gouging might be over with ?  Plus many of us early adopters didn't pay over MSRP when the bike first came out.  So I am just making an assumption they are going for MSRP now.

Everybody's got an opinion, I was just giving mine, that's all....I just didn't get the point of trying to make the bike be something it won't ever be.  Reminds me of folks who put " //M" badges on BMW 325i's, and "Type R" badges on base Integras.  Personalize that bad boy, don't imitate.

Yes, my understanding is that the ride height is different between the two.  I read that in two different reviews of the standard version.  I saw a picture in one of the bike magazines of the two of them side by side, and that's the first thing that caught my eye-the difference in the ride height, visually.  HD specs list the ground clearance of the CVO as 4.2" and the standard at 4.7".  The seat height on the standard is also higher-not a lot, just enough for me to notice.

Don't get me wrong.  i think it's great they came out with the standard Breakout, and I have said that before.  The entire Softail line has lost it's mojo over the years.  There are just no interesting designs anymore, IMO(Custom, Night Train, Rocker, Deuce, Cross-Bones, Springer, all gone)..I mean, gosh, all but one of the Softails have footboards.......footboards on a Softail??  To me, the standard Breakout injects some testosterone back into the line.

Plus with more Breakouts in the wild, maybe Avon and Metzeler will make a front tire for our bikes finally  :apple:

Well, you have me on the prowl for a CVO now.  I thought they were well out of my price range, but now I see the MSRP and there is hope..(I just assumed they were well into the 30k's at MSRP alone).

I need to find one local that I can see in person.  Any color would probably have me grabbing the check book.  I really can't say which color I like more...

I do agree with you that the Breakout is a great Softail and I am glad it exists.  It is my next bike for sure.  I have the CVO Road Glide now, but want to add a softail hot rod to the garage asap.

Thanks

Excellent!  I dig the Road Glide as well.  Probably won't help you being in SoCal, but a dealer in central Ohio still had a crimson red CVO Breakout as of last weekend....asking MSRP....the bike really is a great deal, but only if you like the way the CVO is outfitted...otherwise, you end up spending $30k after changing things around   ;D

Also, there is a publication folks here have mentioned, but I can't remember what it is, that details all the bikes available for sale around the country.  I think a few CVO Breakout owners found their bikes via this method...It's been mentioned on a few strings from time to time...I'm sure someone here knows what it is...

Good Luck!

When my CVO deal fell through at the local dealer, I called Milwaukee HQ and they told me which dealers had one near me. They even knew what color was where. I got the number from the HD main page.
