Yeah, I got it, too.  I was going to post the same question a few times, but since no one else was talking about it, I figured nobody but me was having trouble with it.  Mine does it worst at an idle.  I have found that by lightly pressing on inner fairing around the speedo or tach it will stop it.  Have also found the pushing in or out on the windshield stops it too, so I thought maybe the windshield was the culprit.  Went so far as to put an additional strip of the rubber tape they use on the outer fairing where the windshield mounts on the inner fairing side of the windshield itself to see if that would stop it.  The windshield is in there a lot tighter than it was before, but I still have the squeak.  Very annoying.

When I was inside the fairing last winter installing the H-D high output horn I looked around to see if I could find anything rubbing or loose, but everything seemed to check out fine.  When I get some time, I'll have to tear into it again and take a closer look. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

You guys been taking my bike out when I wasn't watching? I have had the fairing apart as well, looking for the culprit. Just a lite touch on the inner fairing will quiet it down!!! I find turning the radio up louder helps too!!! [smiley=ROFLOL.gif]

I'M TAKING MINE IN TOMMOROW TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIX IT. MINE SEEMS TO BE AROUND THE HANDLEBARS ON THE LEFT SIDE.  I CAN PULL UP ON THE RUBBER RING THAT HITS THE HANDLEBARS AND IT WILL STOP FOR AWHILE BUT IT ALWAYS COMES BACK.  FOR $30000 THEY ARE GOING TO FIND THE SOURCE.  AT LEAST I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE.  NEXT THING YOU KNOW THE CHROME WILL START PEELING OFF. I have just developed the squeak, at 8.000 miles and if you push on the fairing by the handle bars it stops. I thought it was the exhaust pipe gasket but it's not. I think the hot weather has something to do with it. You know for the money we paid for these Seeg you would think they would get their ---- togather. O well we have a two year warrenty, I wonder how good that is ? I have had both rims replaced so far, no problems. I love the bike, it's a blast to ride. I need a new tire at 8,500. to many burn outs.
I think Harley will stand up for defects. Maybe they will come up with an easy fix for the squeak? Have fun ride hard enjoy life!

I agree, mine is worse in the hot weather.  I also think the painted inner fairing is the root cause, just need to find out what/where it is rubbing on to create the squeak.

I noticed mine would stop squeaking if i tried to flex the handlebars, a little siicone spray around the rubber gromets around the handlebars solved the problem  for me.

Try using dry silicone spray.....it's name comes from the fact that it leaves a "dry" residual film when it drys. Use the wand on the can and spray all around the inner and outer fairing interface.

I stop it for a few seconds by pressing around the acc switch, on the lower part of this area.

BY GOD I THINK THEY FIXED IT.  I GOT MY BIKE OUT OF THE SHOP FOR THE INNER FAIRING SQUEAKING AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY REMOVED THE RUBBER GROMETS AND RAISED THE FAIRING A LITTLE AND THAT HAS SEEMED TO FIX IT.  THEY SAID THE HANDLEBARS WERE RUBBING THE INNER FAIRING.  IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN THE HANDLEARS ARE BIGGER THAN STOCK.   [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=7.gif]

BigHD,

Good work!

I just took a ride around Ocean Drive here in Newport, RI for lunch and speciffically was looking for this sound based on your findings.

They seem to be right on...I could play with the right side grommet and make the noise go away.  Could the Handlebars have bent further back as we ride these beasts hanging on by the bars for dear life?  Maybe.  I will have to open it up and do some adjustin'.

Mine does the same thing and when I push the fairing with my fingers around the left side of stereo is stops. I'll be adding it to the list for the next time I take it in.
I've said it before, this site is great. Even before I got this bike I've known more about it than the service dept.
thanks
