09 headlight removal

Can the headlight be removed from the front without removing the fairing  I removed the trim  and now what....

No. The fairing must come off. If you search in the Road Glide Custom boards, someone did a very good photographic instruction thread..

nope the outer fairing has to be removed. three green retainer clips depressed and the headlight assembly will fall out. this pertains to 09 and earlier.

Yes it can be removed, done it several times while setting up my HID lights. Take the plastic ring off from around the lights first. When that's off you will be able to see the three "clips" that hold the light fixture to the fairing, two on top and one on bottom or vice versa.  Use two screwdrivers at once to squeeze the tab that holds the lights in place. start with the clip that is a single and you'll have more room to get the other two. Just took a look at the light. You need to open the two bottom clips then the single top clip. I'll take a picture and post it but it will be clear once the ring around the light is removed.
