Mine showed the dreaded cracks, dealer was on it right then. Almost like they expected it. I am not a tire expert but their concern alarmed me. I need to keep a better eye on this stuff.

I've got about 15k miles on a set of Dunlops with small cracks. I've been watching them since around 6k miles, havent gotten bigger/longer. I'll be replacing them soon, but they havent affected my riding.
I have no problem with light shallow cracks, but hell.....I put 9700 miles on a rear Metzeler with a plug in it. Don't like spending money because the poolboy said to!!!

The tires are covered under warranty so I am not sure what the issue is here. Take it in and get a new tire free. Do not risk your life or the lives of others.  >:(

After reading this I checked mine last night. Yep, fine small cracks at the bead. I never even saw them and I inspect my tires regularly for wear and pressure. So I'm sure I am SOL because I am 1 week out of warranty and the dealer I use is still stalling me on issues I have from within warranty period. Sure glad we pay top dollar for these bikes just to get jacked around by the dealer and MoCo. Sorry, I started down the Rant road. I'll stop now.

Had mine replaced under warranty yesterday.
Same cracks all around the bead on both sides.
Too bad there is no alternative yet, Michelin supposedly has one in the works.....
Headed up to Canada and Western US in two weeks and wish I had an alternative tire brand.

Call Dunlop and speak to Dave. He will have a dealer inspect and report to him and if the cracks are there, DUNLOP not Harley will cover the expense.

Do you happen to have a number or Dave's last name? Sounds like this might be a good call to make. Thanks for the tip.

dunlop tires are warrantied for 6 years.  if you still have over 50% tread, they will replace the tire.  if under 50%, but not beyond the last 1/32 of tread, they will give you 50%.  the only caveat is you still have to pay the dealer labor for install.
