CB Radio
« on: July 10, 2013, 10:49:19 AM »

Well it appears as per HD Tech that converting our CVO Road Glide with a CB Radio is near impossible short of a real rewire job. Shame as I thought a radio from an ultra exchanged for the stock unit would be the simple fix especially as I've got a brand new radio and cb unit  donated to me free. I also discovered the only way to do XM Radio is to do it thru a GPS unit set up. Dang.

You need a new technician as they are wrong on both counts. I've installed several CB's and XM radios. Both on my own personal Road Glide.

The only thing is the B2B module 76416-06 is now obsolete and there is no new replacement for it yet. I have been trying to find one for some time.

Have you tried the part number with its current revision?  76416-06C.  I know someone that got this number about three weeks ago.

Few days ago I sent you a PM telling of a dealer with the part in stock.  Just making sure you'd noticed the PM.

Being an obsolete part with such limited stock I'd pull the trigger immediately were it something needed.  Good luck on the project.

A friend of mine has offered to give me his radio w/cb complete from his 2011 Ultra, the module is 76239-06c . What I've discovered that in the 2013 CVO Road Glide Custom is that they [HD] used a completely different wiring harness from the ultra which has no adapter to it as yet. I thought just swapping out the complete radio etc would be a simple inexpensive fix [ free system given to me] but it appears to be an expensive proposition to have the ability to talk to your fellow group riders. I think I don't need to talk or listen that bad. I've got other preferred upgrades to do ie a nav system and exhaust upgrade.

All you need is the overlay harness. See my previous post for a parts list.  :-\
