Question about Adjustable Fairing Wind Deflectors
« on: July 10, 2013, 05:47:31 PM »

Hey guys, Is there some reason the Harley adjustable fairing wind deflectors part# 58156-08A will not fit earlier models than the 08-13 ? The fitment on these say 08-later models, but I have an 05 and I didn't know they changed the fairings in 08? Any information about this would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I believe the way/location they attach was changed... different screw hole/points or something like that. :nixweiss:

On 08 and later bikes, the deflectors mount with 4 bolts and the earlier bikes attached with 3 bolts.  I believe the 08 and later deflectors can be used on earlier bikes but you will have 1 extra unused hole in the deflector.  I can't remember if the other 3 holes line up exactly but I believe they do.

Does anybody know for sure if the holes line up the same and would have just an extra hole? I could make that work if that is the case.

Thanks.

I have them on my 04 SEEG  ...   holes line up ..... work and look great .... i used some clear tape for protection under the part to protect the paint.  not having a screw in the 4th hole has not been a problem for me ...

Thanks for the information. I suspected that they would probably work, but I just wanted to know before I bought some. I have found many things over the years that Harley makes that will fit other models that are not listed on the fitment specs.

Thanks.

I have them on my '05 SEEG.  Drilled a "fourth" hole and have screws in all four now.
