Has any body tried the lockable lower fairing doors from e-glide goodies?
looks like a good idea but a lot of cash for no more than you get. Is it worth it?
Does any body else sell them?

There a thread on them, I'll try to find it.

Hi iamtrker2,
There was a member on this site trying to get up a group buy from a maker of locking doors but things fell through. You may want to look at the group buy area and sales feedback section. Some folks have had bad luck in dealing with E-glide Goodies mainly in the fact that they don't take refunds and are hard to get ahold of in some people's experience.
I don't have those doors but have ordered in the past from E-Glide and have NOT had a problem with them, but I have not tried to make a return either.
Only drawback to the doors you may have is that they open towards the tank and if the key is in the lock it could scratch something.
I think they are the only ones making the doors now but you may find them from another parts company and not deal direct so you can return the doors to the distributor and not have dealings directly if you fear a problem.

VaEagle is correct.  The other buy flamed out and I couldn't find much feedback on the doors other than the tank issue, mine are in the garage but not installed yet.

I like the idea, but don't know where I'll put the water bottle I usually stuff behind the flap once I install the locking doors.  Probably have to go with the crash bar bottle holder or a handlebar mount which I don't really want to do.

There's a thread or two on these locking leg fairing doors, here someplace.

I have them.  To my knowledge, they're the only "locking" leg fairing doors available besides the ten sets the Darrell made year before last.  I had a pair of those (they were padded vinyl that matched the seat very nice).  He talked about doing another run of those if we got enough people interested however, as mentioned above....that didn't come to fruation.

After my accident, I had to go to eGlide Goodies locking fairing doors.  I like mine and am glad that I have them.  When we shipped our bikes back east this past summer, Jon (JONGA on this site) and I both put our rain suits in the leg fairings (pants in one side, jacket in the other).  When we landed in Atlanta, my rain suit was still in the leg fairings however, Jon's was missing.  That is just one "known" time that they paid for theirselves.

I have posted several threads regarding eglide goodies; be sure you want them, as once you buy them, you own them!  They have absolutely zero customer service, and will not do any returns.  In fact, it's almost impossible to "talk" to anyone there, as they have a voicemail that answers the phone and it says to send an email...you'll be lucky to get a response, unless you're ordering.  I certainly wouldn't support a vendor that doesn't stand behind their products, and won't talk to you.  I didn't like the fact that the doors could hit the tank.  It would have made more sense to have the doors open the other way, (IMHO).  Anyway, I would definitely give eglide goodies a thumbs down as a quality vendor.
