An oldie but goodie from Johnny Carson
« on: July 17, 2013, 07:37:50 AM »

TCM has been running some interviews on Monday night between Johnny Carson and various stars.  This past Monday, he told a joke that I hadn't heard in quite a while and had to revisit it here:

A very well dressed elderly man was sitting in a bar next to a very attractive younger lady.  After a bit, he looked over at her and said "Sweetie, if I gave you a million dollars, would you make love to me all night?"
She looked at him and said "Excuse me? Did you ask me to make love to you for a million dollars?"
"That's right.  One million to have sex with me"
She thought for a moment and said "Well, yes, I would do that"
"Would you make love to me for $5?"
"WHAT!  You just asked me if I would for a million.  What kind of girl do you think I am?"
He looked at her and said "Well, I believe we have established what kind of girl you are, now we are negotiating the price"

Good one, Howard! I use that line a lot... Didn't realize it came from Johnny!

Johnny was always my favorite late night host. I grew up watching the "real" Tonight Show... as all of us of a certain age did. Leno is good, but I still miss Johnny...

I found this old clip on YouTube of Ellen Degeneres' first appearance on the show back in 1986, doing her Phone Call to God bit. Very funny, and Johnny invited her over to sit in the "Chair" to talk - which he only did when he really liked the performer. Good stuff!
