NON-US CVO buyers.....what did you pay? Just curious!
« on: July 19, 2013, 08:54:28 PM »

I was wondering what NON-US owners paid for their CVO's "OUT THE DOOR".....total cost....bike, Shipping, taxes, etc....what you paid the dealer.

Year
Model
Color
Optional equipment you bought (if any you purchased or added to the bike)
Taxes
Shipping
TOTAL PRICE (converted to US dollars)

If you can....what the difference in cost between a CVO and an "average big touring bike" was.

example:  In the US the CVO runs about 30-40% more than a Stock version of the same bike.  So $22,000 Road Glide 103" vs. a $31999 Road Glide Custom CVO

We have some import taxes in the US, Gas Guzzler taxes, etc.....but I know many countries have STEEP PREMIUMS on imported items.

I am just curious!

Thanks!!!

FLHTCUSE 7 Got this 2012 model new in July this year for £26,500 should have been £30000 but its the yellow / black one so that may account for the discount  8) Have already spent another £2000 on headers, pipes , tuner, etc. The standard ultra cost's about £20000 over here in a soon to be independent Scotland  :2vrolijk_21:

I just stopped in a Harley dealer in Copenhagen, Denmark and also one in Stockholm, Sweden around the middle of July.  The CVO Breakout if they could get one was around $100,000.  I think their website says 590,000 Danish Crowns @ around 17 cents a Crown.  It was hard to tell what was included in Stockholm, but it was around 500,000 Swedish Crowns @ around 15 cents a Crown or $75,000.

Purchased this 2008 CVO SPRINGER (FXSTSSE2) in 2008.

Cost me $57,000 Australian Dollars new of the Showroom floor.

The new 2013 CVO BREAKOUT sold here for $43,000 ride away.

Since the GFC, the new price of Harley Davidson bikes here in Australia has dropped around $15,000 on CVO bikes and around $5,000 on Stock bikes..

CVO bikes were always a real wanker price new here in Australia

Even more than the exchange rates of the day would account for , GOUGING importers for sure !!

For a while last year , 2012 , our Aussie dollar was close to $1.10 USD and the CVO Breakout was STILL $43 K Aussie ride away !!

That's close to $45 K USD at the time , RIDICULOUS for sure , GOUGING again !!

That's why I bought a 6,300 mile one owner 2008 FXSTSSE2 CVO Springer in Central Texas and brought it to Perth as a used bike.
Still cost me $26300 Aussie dollars which is $23,400 USD at the rates of August 2013 " out the door " that is ON THE ROAD in Perth Western Australia, cheap by our standards .

That was US buy price , shipping , Aussie import duty , Km/h Speedo , 2 compulsory new tyres , compulsory Australian compliance "conversion" and local state inspection and registration. That's for a bike that's $18 K USD in the US all day long today !!

Some of these figures for other countries are just mental as anything !!
