Red Line with Shockproof
« on: July 26, 2013, 11:22:36 AM »

Just slapped in a quart into my transmission hole based in my 2011 CVO Street Glide based on the comments from this site.

WOW!

That clacky slop disconnected feeling in my drive train that has annoyed me for the past 20,000 miles is all but gone. There's still some slop but nothing near what it was. It's like riding a whole new scooter.

On a scale from 1-10 where 10 is what I had before, I'm running about a 2 now.

Best money I've ever spent! (Well, that and my 12" Yafee Monkey Bars)

Ran red line in my 09 and now in the 13. I think it is the best.

Great stuff, no doubt! I keep it in stock and run it in my own bike. It really clings to parts and keeps them working smoothly.  :bananarock:

That would be what I (and I would say those that are using Redline in the tranny) use. :2vrolijk_21:

I thought this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-Line-42804-V-Twin-Transmission-Oil-Shockproof-Quart-/400516245065?_trksid=p3284.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DSI%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BUA%252BFICS%26otn%3D21%26pmod%3D270735948654%26ps%3D54 was what ppl were using?
Before Redline created (and increased the price of) a "VTwin" specific oil we were (and I still am) using the Heavy Shockproof. Just like most companies if they stamp something with "VTwin" they will increase the cost. :( Search the site for "Redline Heavy Duty Shockproof" and you'll get many hits on it. :2vrolijk_21:

It is the exact same fluid in a different bottle.  As Fired00d mentioned, long before they jumped on the V-Twin thing some of us were using the regular Heavy Shockproof they've been selling for years to the automotive market.  Once enough people started using this stuff in their Harley's and started talking about it on the forums, the folks at Redline decided to jump on the bandwagon and came out with a nice new bottle to dump the same old fluid into, and then jacked the price up by $3 per quart because it said V-Twin on the bottle (like so many vendors do with products aimed at the Harley market).  After a lot of us called them out on the BS and the fact the fluids were identical, they added that information to the website but instead of lowering the price for the motorcycle labeled product they just raised the price of the old automotive product.  Btw, they did the exact same thing with their V-Twin Primary Oil, which is in fact their old MTL 70w80 gear oil that many Harley folks had been using in the primary.
