I had that issue with mine at about 2000 miles.  Rear tire wore through the wire harness leading to the saddle bag.  Good luck...

I have had and still have this issue.  At, 11,000 miles on my 2012, I got a message the ipod syncing, then iPod not respond.  They replaced a cable.  It worked for a day or two then went same deal.  It is in the shop as I am typing this.

I had the same issue early on and they thought it was the cable and replaced it. A few miles later had the same issue. The radio needed reflashed and that was 18,000 trouble free miles ago.

Picking up the bike as soon as the dealership opens.  They said that when they routed the newly replaced cable that they had it in such a way that when i sat on the seat, it pinched the cable.  They rerouted it and now they say it is fine.  Soon to find out.  Harley should have a more stout cable than that.

That sounds fishy to me, it is a cable with wires in it that conduct signals, not a hose carrying fluids that can be pinched off. If it stopped working when it was pinched then the wired were broken, re-routing it only temporarily rejoins the broken ends. I would have them replace with a new cable now that they figured out how to route it.

8) TinSpinner,  It is working fine.  The dealership said that the wires in the cable shroud are very thin and what look like happened is when i sat down was it pulled the wires from the plug connector.  They took the pressure off and it connects fine.  Believe me, if it acts up, they will be doing the iPod interface, cable to the saddlebag and the cable in the saddlebag.  I'll be testing it out on a long ride this weekend and next week.  There will be bumps, long runs and I'll remove the bag several times to see how the connector responds.

Ultimately, H-D needs a better setup and they will only do it after enough issues and complaints.

Could be a bad iPod also.  If it is in the first year, take the iPod to an Apple store and if it's bad, they will replace it.  Mine would not sync, and was replaced by Apple.  However, Apple covers the unit for 1 year from the date of purchase by Harley, NOT 1 year from your date of purchase.  In my case, the bike was only 4 months old but the iPod warranty had only 2 months left on it.  The new unit doesn't say "CVO"...but it works.

Harley will cover the iPod for 2 years, so if it is out of warranty with Apple, HD will have to cover it.

I doubt it's the radio.  Everything I've read is the saddlebag cable (and connector on either end), the cable to the fairing or the iPod interface.  I haven't heard anyone having the radio replaced.  Maybe you are the first I've heard.

I my 13 if I try to use my ipod it says no ipod found but if I use the nano it works ok. Well sort of ok, as I have seen on other threads it will not hold its place in the play list sometimes. It like to always go back and start at the first song in the list of all songs!

Now and then my iPod doesn't come right on.  I usually just cycle through the am, fm,wb,, back to iPod.   Then it usually comes right on.    Maybe it doesn't recognize it right away when I start the bike up after sitting for a while.  :nixweiss:
