Thanks, Spyder, you're all over it! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I've never minded the way they come with textured black plastic . . . . . . there's enough of that look elsewhere nearby that it blends in well (switches, radio, etc.), but I'm going to have to see about having them painted this time.  It is a nice custom touch!

Brian, Mike White just figured out who to talk with to get the 'secret' paint codes in case your painter has trouble w/ the PPG code.

Hey Dave, sorry I don't have any others, but send a PM to M White....he's the one that was telling me about getting the codes directly from PPG.  Mike White in Texas.  Also, someone else on the site a year or so ago knew how to get them....might try searching the site for history of paint codes.  good luck.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] spyder

It's not drastic, just starts out on the corner and splits the plastic......looks like it's due to a combination of viberation/contracting of the plastic where it holds the glass.

And to anyone that has made the switch to the standard bar mounted mirrors to the fairing mounted pieces; what is the before and after difference of their effectiveness and vision angles?

The view with the fairing mirrors is quite a bit worse than the stock SEEG mirrors.

I have never had a problem with these cracking, though.  They made a slight design change to correct the cracking somewhere back in '01 from what I understand.  I've seen some of those and Spyder's right, it looks terrible, but I don't think that's an issue with these any longer.

I added the fairing mounted mirrors after having them painted to match the inner color (dark candy cherry) of the fairing.

.......

For the chrome obsessed, the other major disadvantage is the fact that you would be removing chrome rather than adding more.

Flyinwillie-Your painted fairing mirrors look great but their not for me.  I actually put the larger HD rectangular on mine for more rear view.
