Hi Speedy

I'm happy with the Metzeler ME 880 Marathon XXL 240/40 R 18 so far. I drove 1500km with it right now. Hoping that the front tire will be available soon.

My dealer told my, that I have to mount a 240 and not 260. - But I was thinking, that I read, that the 260 should work and the link from RedMood confirms the compatibility.

But myself I can't give you a qualified answer to your question. I'm also interested in driving experiences from others with the Metzeler 260 on our Breakout.

Cheers! Chrome

Here's some pics of a mates Breakout with the ME880 260/40-18 just fitted.  I measured about 12mm clearance between the belt and stock 240 tyre before fitting the 260. As you can see I can still get my index finger between the belt and 260 tyre. Didn't get a chance to measure with the 260 on.

There is no noticeable difference in ride quality or performance and should reduce the error in the speedo. But will confirm this when I fit the 260 to the CVO.
