It's my understanding that this will go...  First release... very soon... will be Flight Recorder.  That is already out for BETA testing.  Next up will be 2014 bikes.  This may very well be the year that touring goes to CAN bikes instead of J1850.  After the 2014 bikes are straightened out, VTune 3 will be released.

I surely can be wrong on this, but it is what Steve laid out for me last week.

From my testing and what I know is coming I feel confident those who wait will be happy they did.

I have found the ignition correction (retard) to be of great value...especially as applied to big, high compression builds.

I also believe the flight recorder will be accepted with open arms especially for the DIYers.

Nope, me neither...  I have a black right now, too.

Yeah, the new dongle has some really cool stuff like 2 processors and lots of memory.
The black one was a communications gateway only whereas the new blue one is basically a computer.

Sure would be nice to have a price break for upgrading to blue. You know, a customer loyalty sort of incentive.

That would be very nice, indeed!

As I understand it, the blue allows for on board memory and slightly faster information transfer speed using the J1850 connection.  I'm not sure why you would need blue for the spark correction program, since you still have the option of saving the data on your hard drive.  The only limitation will be if TTS doesn't allow the Vtune3 program to recognize the HD04 devices, which could be a possibility but I doubt it.  TTS has done a good job in the past of making sure software updates were backwards compatible, so I have faith that there will be some new features that will be available for the black dongle guys as well.  I have one of each now, so I'm covered either way.   8)

I was thinking not having the Flight Recorder doesn't bother me as I came to the conclusion the hard way that it is far easier to fill a histogram if you can see it, so I use a bar mounted computer for vtuning, but then the recorder would be handy for recording everyday riding events without having the computer on board I suppose, swinging in the breeze me, to and fro   ;D

Vtune3 is a program that uses the data collected with datamaster.  HD04 and HD06 can collect data with datamaster.  The flight recorder needs the HD06.

Flight recorder collects more than vtune data.  It will collect any of the types of data that datamaster can collect.  I see this being huge with spark data.  Sometimes it can be tough to reproduce some of the spark events on a dyno.  Plug the HD06 in the port and go ride.  Normal day out with mama.  It will automatically start and stop recording with rpm.  So, you can go on a ride on Saturday, go for a ride on Sunday, and look at the data on a Monday.  No buttons to push, no starting a recording, stopping a recording, all that mess.  Just a normal ride and wife doesn't even have to know your messing with things.   win, win

Something may be happening. TTS software updater won't connect to the remote server for me.

Don't know the length of time it will record. Too many variables with that. It does have 16 gig. I do know that I recorded about 7 hours of data.
