HD Led Headlights on Ultra
« on: August 12, 2013, 08:36:06 PM »

Decided to have my lights repalced at my next service. After last weeks ride to Sturgis and back I learned that you notice them a lot father away in the daylight as well. The choice is clear or the black lens? Do any of you have pictures with your LED lights?

I feel like White will be the choice but my bike has a black theme as well.

Thank you

I just ordered the black ones from LSHD.  I'll post pictures when they show up.

On our trip to sturgis, it seemed like 3 out of every 4 bikes had LED lighting.  They make a huge difference at night and even easy to see in the sunlight.  I definitely recommend them.   I went with Trucklite phase 7.   Very happy with that too. . The stock lights seem very yellow to me now after see the LED's in action.  :2vrolijk_21:

I noticed the same thing heading to Sturgis, at Sturgis, and coming home from Sturgis. I was leaning toward the phase 7 until I saw them coming at me. Visibility for oncoming drivers drops off as you are coming at them, the Daymaker didn't do that so that's the light I am going with. I don't think you can go wrong with either but I like the looks of the Daymaker better too..

At least I'm not crazy. Stu they were everywhere last week!! I looked at approaching bikes and the daytime effect was enough for me. In my initial thoughts last year we don't ride that much at night to justify $800 but after seeing them in groups the non LED lights do look so Yellow and the LED bikes were so white (blue tint). Thanks for the photos Im going in for service prior to GTG in Maggie Valley so I have a few weeks.

FWIW, the DayMakers and the harness to keep the spots on with the high beam is $750 shipped from Lakeshore.  It's an easy 20 minute install (and free) if you do it yourself.

I don't ride much at night but the increased visibility to other traffic in the daytime made me a believer in the LEDs lights and jumper harness to keep the spots on.  I always run high beam with spots during the day.

I installed the HD Daymakers and the harness to keep the spots on with the high beams. I think they look better when off than the Phase 7's and I know they are appropriately named because they turn night into day.

Can I make a request?
Can someone take the picture of my black LED's and put it beside Phato's LED's?
That would make an interesting comparison.
And as always, great looking bike Phato!

With the black LED's you're bike looks like the evil twin to mine, a little menacing  ---  I like it  :2vrolijk_21:

I had a HID on my Road King and switched over to the HD daymaker.  it's fantastic, the beam is crisp and clear from a distance.  I have the custom dynamic sunspots passing lights with a chrome half cover  "eyelid" over the top half of them.  They make a HUGE difference when paired with the day maker.  I've heard many people say that the seal on the day maker passing lights breaks and they start getting moisture pretty quickly, obviously it's always just after the warranty goes on them.  LOL
has anyone else had that experience with the day maker spots?  I just got a 2012 cvo ultra and need to change the headlights out pretty quickly.  the dim yellow stock lights are killing me.

Ralph, I have the black ones on my bike, but I would go with the clear lenses on yours.  JMHO.
