2013 in Black and silver,5,800 Kilometres ( 3,400 miles !), bike is just one year old last month

"spider webbing" under the clearcoat on the rear fender, emanating from the bolt down hole for the seat

Weeping from the front fork seal(s) , just like the already posted photos of the same

Both will be fixed under warranty on the same trip into the dealer.

Took 6/7 weeks for a rear fender to arrive in Australia. Fork seals are same as other models in the range apparently.

Still a pain in the ass , dropping the bike in , getting a lift home and reverse to collect again.

That and i don't like the dealer doing anything to my bike , I do Everything myself except tyres

They'll mark all the bolts and clamps for sure , I can strip out a rear fender and rebuild and not mark or score anything !1

Making me rethink my long term ownership plans for the bike

My 2008 CVO Springer has no issues whatsoever !!

[/quote]  Aloha Guys, 2013 Black and Silver with over 20,000 miles on her.  Rust under clear coat on tank and rear fender, very tiny but replaced under warranty.  Chrome flaking on rear axle nut cover, will have it replaced under warranty.  The only thing I won't replace is the big ol chit eatin grin on my face every time I ride her.

Went to the dealer last week, after the paint problem with the fuel tank last year (replacement took 9 months) now the clearcoat around the bolt for the buddyseat is coming loose.
Bike is at the dealer now while the HD rep first want to see the problem before they decide if I get a new rear fender or not.
The outcome is maybe , "they all do that, so it is normal".

I hope you get new rear fender from HD.

I think there are some problems with the paint on these bikes. I am a little disappointed because this are an exclusive model and this should not occur.

My five previous harleys that I purchased new, but no CVO had no problems at all...

Update on my engine base seal leak:

They ended up just scrubbing off the residue and told me to wait and see if it leaked again. Not a single drip and I am at 8K miles! I am happy I didn't have the engine opened up.

However, I do have rust forming on the rear fender around the recepticle for the rear seat. 1 Year left of standard warranty, definetly waiting until the summer is over, I am sure it will sit for awhile so I will wait until it is cold out.

While I do sympathize with those that are having these b.s. issues with their bikes, I have noticed that no one with Cobalt Breakouts (myself included) is having any of these issues. So it's settled: blue is the best color.

I'm picking up my bike Tuesday and I'm a bit disappointed in all the issues but I looks like Harley is at least stepping up and correcting the issues.

Being new to the site, here goes my thoughts.

Are all the bikes made in one plant or many plants? Are the parts manufactured in one plant or many? Could be the parts coming from different places and put on specific colors may hold some weight. I have a cobalt blue one and never an issue (knocking on wood) I did not even have to have my fuel gauge flashed (but I did anyway)

Harley Davidson have the answer.

I think all the parts that are returned will be registered to see how they are made / install...

Hi all CVO owners.
I want to know what kind of problems you have / had with your CVO Breakout.

I own a Black Diamond with 5000 miles on.

I have had problems like:
* Oil leak from the pipeline between oil tank and engine.
* Break caliper rear has pushed the break rotor so that the rotor has been blue.
* And the last is the oil leak from the front fork, See picture.

I am showing the same leak from fork seals.
Didnt notice til it was going on the roll back after i got hit going through a parking lot.
So far there is 2400 in damage and that doesnt include the forks. I was thinking that the forks might be bent slightly and caused the leak.
Wondering now if its just bad seals. 2014 CVO Breakout with only 972 miles on her.

All I got from the girl was the typical"I didnt see you" and her insurance info.
And a very sore back from holding on to bars as she ran up onto my right side of the bike. OUCH.

Thanks all!

Regards
Jan
