Difference between 2013 cvo mufflers and 2011 cvo mufflers?
« on: August 16, 2013, 11:48:21 PM »

I did a the Fullsac cores to a set of 2011 cvo mufflers and installed the 2" cores in them with no packing or screens in them. The sound was nice and deep with no tinny sound. I used them on a different bike. I need to get my SERGU back on the road.     Thinking about getting some 2013 CVO mufflers and installing Fulsac cores in them. So what's the Difference between 2012 and up cvo mufflers and 2011 cvo mufflers?
Can I do the same thing to the 2013's as I did the 2011's or do the new mufflers require the packing and screens to sound right. Theres  only a couple of hunred dollars difference in cost after buying 4" rinehart mufflers and Fullsac cores. Would I be better off to just buy some 4" rineharts and be done with it?

Looking at them I would say there is little or no difference.  Shoot Steve at Fulsac a email, you will get a straight answer. I just put the 2 inch baffles in mine the packing retainer was an option as far as if you had to use it. It's your money but the baffles is a WHOLE lot less for a great sound. JMHO :soapbox:

There was virtually no difference at all between the CVO cans on my 2010 Tequila Sunrise SESG and my current 2012 SESG. I don't think they've changed a bit since they came out.

The part numbers for the mufflers did change from 2011 to 2012 and up, but I have no idea if there is really any significant difference.  I seriously doubt the physical size of the cans would have changed, it's much more likely there was a change to the stock baffles.  As previously mentioned, contact Fulsac to get the definitive answer.

Interesting... I had the same Fullsac baffles in both sets of cans... the '10s and the '12s.

The stock baffle configuration changed, hence the part number change. Dimensionally the cans are the same so Fullsac cores will fit the 4" cans spanning several, if not all, year models.

I know the baffles were different in my 09, and the packing was different than what was in my 12 and my 13.  Much more packing in the 12 and 13.

Also the packing never shifted in my 09 after running it with the 2.25 fullsac cores.  1500 miles on the 13 and the 2.25 cores and the packing was all blown to the end.
