FLHTCUSE7 with a few add-ons
« on: August 17, 2013, 06:03:15 PM »

 8)

Here's a few pics of my FLHTCUSE7 with the add-ons. I don't want to go over the top, but have what I call "functional looks".

Starting with the blacked-out Day Makers and the Wind Splitter windshield.

Locking lowers are worth every penny.  Dry, clean and secure!

Last one: the bike this week on top of an 8th story parking deck in downtown Baltimore.  Just a neat pic.

Nice mods! How do you like those latches? Thought about them to match the hinges but didn't know if they would pull the lid down as tight as the stock latches do. What I liked about them is they latch on closing, I came from an '07 with the leather tour pack that had a push button latch to the '13 with the regular latches. I don't know how many times I rode off then looked in my mirror and noticed I had failed to latch the lid before it became habit, still checking myself though.

TinSpinner: never had a problem with them and I have had them on since December.  This year has been very wet in the east and I ride year round: rain or shine.  Never has any seal issues and I installed them myself - very easy to do especially if you did the hinges as well.

I was going to add those latches as well but dealer said they may still not be heavy duty enough for the tour pak. So I put on an ultra brace instead and love it

Anyways, your bike looks great and I am also thinking about the daymaker headlights. How do you like them and do they make a huge difference?

Thanks

DR - Love them.  World of difference.  They are extremely bright.  It will cast a shadow in regular daylight of a vehicle in front of me on a street sign.  Another really good thing is they are easy to align.  I did mine in my garage.  Oh, contrary to some folks thoughts, you DO NOT have to take off the fairing to replace the stock headlamp.

Worth every penny.  And remember, 77% of motorcycle/vehicle collisions happen from the front.  Headlight and spots are lifesavers.   :o
