Good advice from all. I have been fiscally irresponsible in the past buying the latest and greatest new edition of various toys and in retrospect, lived to regret it. If you have bundles of disposable income, go nuts, but if you have to go into debt in order to do it....nah. The resale market is garbage, so its lose-lose when trading or selling to go into a new bike. Best of luck to you.

I see that most everyone is advising you to get what makes you happy but my opinion is to keep the bikes you have a let the Limited thoughts go.

Personally, I only buy my toys with cash.  If I owed 19k on a bike it would drive me nuts.  In regard to 2014s, there is not a bike that I like more than my SESG.  It seems to me the motor company is a couple years away from coming out with something that really trips my trigger.  they are making me yawn at the moment.  The new road glide may be the bike but I would wait until the bugs are worked out.

I like the way dlaws01 thinks!  But, your personal financial situation is none of my business. ::)

Well, you asked for advice, so here's mine... Well, not advice really... just some thoughts to hopefully help you in making your decision. I assume you are talking about the '14 CVO Limited.

You have two beautiful SERGs, one of which you said $19K on. Trading both of these for the '14 CVO Limited will be ugly financially, plus you will be losing the flexibility of riding either your SERGU or SERG when the mood hits you.

Also, you are taking your chances on all of the new stuff on the Steamin' Eagle working reliably right out of the box the first year. Hmmmm....

Trading Harleys, or any vehicle, for new ones every year or two is a good way to lose a lot of money on the deals. Yes, you want what you want... but sometimes it makes sense to keep what you have.

The dealer WILL NOT give you SQUAT for any mods you've done, nor for any accessories you've added. That figures in the financials, too... although that is sunk money anyway.

I'm afraid that I haven't given you any reasons TO make this trade... but my experience is that you need to ride the bike that really MOVES you... as long as you can afford it. Just don't let initial lust for the newest thing bite you in the butt too hard financially... unless that pain is trumped by the pure joy you feel riding on your heart's desire...

I would not trade both bikes for one!!

I might consider trading the SERGU for the CVO limited and keeping the SERG.

I can not imagine only having one bike.

These are harley's so you have to have a second bike while the other is being repaired.

Plus I would much rather have a shark than a Bat

I would suggest waiting till next year when the revised/updated Road Glide appears. Then decide if the shark or the Limited is your Huckleberry. This give some time for the bugs on the new model to show up, if they do. Sell the SERGU if its a disappointment and can't be fixed to your satisfaction. Pay off the other bike and bank the difference. My experience is my shark handles better than my limited does.  My SERGU hanldles like it is on rails.

Having two bikes takes time to enjoy both. I just need something between the King and Ultra!

Man, you owe $19,000 so in your trade in one bike will pay off your dept, so you loose that one! Then the stealer will give you squat for the second bike and you will end up with the 2014 and still owing around $30,000 after it's all said and done. Horrible math picture just emerged in my mind. Don't do it, its going to be like date rape at the dealer. Ouch.

Happy ending, ( I think???), went to dealer and could not have been met with more indifference; left me standing there approximately 45 minutes, finally salesman comes over, I tell him I am interested in CVO Limited, and my trades ( at this point I am upfront telling him I want to get an idea of the numbers. Next thing I know he is walking away ( I think he's coming right back ) only he doesn't, turns out he went to lunch so I leave. Go back next day Friday, place is a zoo, looks like Harley dealer 1995, find another salesman tell him my story and he tells me he will need an hour to look at my 2012, I wait, he comes back tells me my bike is great but won't give me a price. I am told his CVO Limited allocation is spoken for and he will have to get back to me, then he disappears and no one can find him ( they page him, he doesn't answer. ( I shower everyday, and use deodorant ) ( I SWEAR!). Long story short I leave, have a great ride home (loving my skunk all over again) pull in driveway and suddenly primary sounds like marbles ( brand new problem ) bike has 1,700 pampered miles, pull in clutch noise is gone ( gonna search transmission/clutch threads, seem to remember reading about this. whoever said keep two Harleys ( cause one is always broken was right!!!).
Anyway to all who responded thanks for your input, love this forum.

Upon hearing that story, my advice is now that if you ever decide to make the trade... Don't do it at that dealer! TWO salesmen walked away? I guess "CVO" is a dirty word these days...

I'd keep your TWO bikes...

Yeah.  And, hopefully, you don't have to take your skunk to that dealer to find out what the noise is. :nervous:

Sounds like that dealership blows. I'd find a new dealer. Hope you figure out the noise. Maybe Take it to a different dealer.

Like the old saying goes... "good things come to those who wait!"

I for one would NOT rush into buying an untested 2014 with all the changes.  If they are a "hit" then they'll be there next year and hopefully so will the new and improved Road Glides.  Then you can have your choice.  JMHO.

Good luck with YOUR decision.

I found myself drooling over the new SGS myself with all the new shiny.  Problem is I just got my 2013 RGU a couple months ago.  I'm trying hard to resist the temptation because I traded from the SG to an RG in the first place.  As a impulse person myself, I say resist.  That CVO Limited is a bad mutha, but VaEagle had the best and most sound advice that I read.  Had mr thinking about my own situation.  Keep those 2 and see what it looks like for 15.  That's what I'm going to do.
