As long as the owner is satisfied and happy, nothing else matters including my opinions and thoughts.

The basis for my statement is simple: in any industry, new lines have issues that are unforeseen.  Our love of H-D bikes run deep as do our wallets .  Thus, to be the first and pay out a lot of money and be a beta tester can make the wallet even deeper.  Make no mistake on this next statement...companies can only afford a limited test group and time to find all the bugs the redesign creates.  Thus we pay to be what they should pay for :smilie_daumenneg:.  This happens in every industry it just so happens our objects of affection cost 30k or more.  It is precisely why I wrote what I did so the owner would be "satisfied and happy."  ;D  JMHO - but that doesn't matter ;)

Rumor today is the first "set" of guinea pigs owners will be watched closely and ANY issues with the new system will be addressed quickly and information sent directly to engineering/manufacturing and, if possible, the effected part(s) will be replaced immediately and shipped back to MoCo for review/evaluation.  This coming from our local dealer and directions they got from Harley.... :nixweiss:

I bought a '99 FLHR and a '09 FLHX.  Owned both about 4 years and no lick of problem with either.  So, if I were in the market, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a '14.  But, it's been my plan for a few years to buy a 2015 to make a 50 yr. pair with my '65 Pan.

I don't believe it to be a rumor.  It is what companies have to do when they change so many things at once.  If you sink 30K - 40K+ on a new bike with new tech, the absolute last thing they want is bad press (word of mouth  :argue: :gossip: ).  With all the immediate concern for the new bikes, has anyone though about the backseat we will have on our "old" scooters say from like 2012 or 2013?  If things do not go well and there are developmental flaw, we will be on the backburner until they get things figured out.  :nixweiss:.  Hey don't get me wrong, I love MoCo and I want them to be successful, but folks need to be aware.  :beatdeadhorse:  JMHO

Well it all has to start somewhere. This is VIRGIN ground for the MOCO and things will go well if, for the first year or so the peeps that buy the new bikes are treated like part of there R&D (research & developement).

Ya never know those that buy a 14 maybe treated like REALLY IMPORTANT people and get the Royal Treatment. Our bikes are kind of like our children :confused5:, (will go to no end to keep them happy and pour thousands of dollars into them as long as respect is shown...........on both sides) love them no matter what..... :2vrolijk_21:

I would by one in a HEART BEAT..............ah next year.  ::)
