Studying up to install the new compensator. While looking in my shop manual, I do not see the hydraulic clutch hub removal instructions, but only the cable operated.  Is it a different procedure? If so, can someone give me instructions on removing the hydraulic clutch hub on my CUSE3? Thanks for any help.

I'm not concerned about the potential of good adhesives either Bob.  Some guy's prep though?  Yeah, that would worry me.

The big Torx bolt may be just fine.  But my first thought on seeing it was the mental image of a socket rounded off.  Pulling as much torque as that will take it'd only take a moment of wobble to not have the socket fully seated and straight.  Hope it's ok.  Expect to see a few wrecked sockets.

That scares the hell out of me too, Don...

Anyone know what the torque setting will be on that bad boy T70 bolt? Same 100 ft-lbs, back one turn, then 140 ft-lbs?

Very easy.  Remove the snap ring in the center of the clutch hub.  Remove 12-14" long clutch release shaft.  That exposes the LH thread clutch hub retaining bolt.  Then remove chain and 2 hub assy's..

Be sure and turn clutch hub over to make sure your female clutch hub splines are good and not ragged with missing teeth.

Mark the chain with an arrow for same/proper rotation as you took  it off.

Put a tie strap around the tensioner for removing to keep it caged for easy removal/install of bolts.

1 3/16" or if you can't find that go with 30mm.

I figured out my noise today.  It is the compensator vibration coming through the primary chain to the rear sprocket disturbing the spinning gears in the transmission. Seems the gears start banging against each other as the vibration telescopes. Although only a band aid fix for now, I added another half quart of transmission fluid to give the gears more padding, so to speak. Noise is gone for the first time since the compensator was installed two years ago. I know this fix would not work on a two wheeler due to the lean angles, but mine being a trike conversion and sitting straight up, the tranny will hold the extra 1/2 quart without any leakage or blow by. At least I have found the noise source which is coming from the transmission but the culprit is the compensator. Ordered the new comp and should be here Wednesday.

Good LORD! What were they thinking doing 175 ft lbs with a Torx head? That should be a hex head bolt.

I might have to break with my principles and have that done by the dealer... so if they break it they have to FIX it!

Problem is that they probably would not torque it to 175lbs in fear of breaking something.

I have them. 5 pages and not savvy enough to try.lol. If there is something in particular you want to know just ask but they are pretty streight  forward. Looks no more difficult than the last SE comp I installed. 1/2 inch drive T70 I have looks beefy enough to handle 175ftlbs.....I hope
