TTS ques on "locked" ecm
« on: August 28, 2013, 08:21:11 PM »

I have a couple of ques  about the tts .....

1st : I have  the black  TTS  for my convertible  and I think I understand that once its married to my bike  the HD dealership cant change the ecm tunning/programs ?  ..but what if I need a update flash  from Harley would they be able to that ?

2nd: when people say  TTS is married and locked to your bike  can HD  dealer's  flash/reprogramed  ecm back to stock and then use  a different tunning  device  to retune bike ?

3rd: this is a true story happing now
Two  of my friends  shared the cost of the Dual TTS tuner    they agree who ever sold /traded there bike 1st the other person would get  the TTS  ...my ques  kinda  reflects  the two ques I asked  aboved
the friend is trading his bike on  a 2014 limited model , dealer is unaware about  TTS  device's  and I was thinking of the next person that purchased the bike  what is he gonna to do  ?
thanks Lever

If they did then you would loose your tune in the bike, right? So no they cannot intall a new tune unless you replace your original first.

2nd: when people say  TTS is married and locked to your bike  can HD  dealer's  flash/reprogramed  ecm back to stock and then use  a different tunning  device  to retune bike ?

You would need to first put the original tune back in the bike then you can do anything you like.

Again if the friend simply reinstalls the original tune into the bike before trading it in, No Problem.

#1 is there to make it so a dealer can NOT 'update' a tune.  There is no update that would help a bike run any better than a good tune.

Tuned with a good tuner that is.  The only update that I am aware of was for torque management.  Something that TTS has taken care of.  Something you can't get if the tuner just starts with the MTE.
